THere are definitely risks with any procedure. However, that being said, my surgeon is not in Mexico (although that has nothing to do with anything, just stating he is not in Mexico) and his stats are better than those in the original post. If I remember correctly, he told me he had done around 1500 surgeries and had 1 leak 5 years ago and no deaths. Disregarding where they are both from, if I was choosing between 2 surgeons, I would be apprehensive of one that had more complications than my surgeon. No matter who the surgeon is or whether or not they ever found out the exact details in that very recent death, his higher number of any incidents (only compared to my surgeon) would cause me to inquire about other surgeons.

Well, you'll be taking care of that soon enough too! Can't wait to start our new lives on the losers bench!

I hear you on the being ready to give stuff up! I am sooo ready too. I haven't had food funerals, just eating the normal stuff but I've been trying to make sure I enjoy it more! I don't even care about Thanksgiving but I'm the only one in my family who can/will host it and we didn't do it last year. Since I recover poorly, I wanted to at least be able to cook the food! So hopefully mine will be the week after! I feel like I will easily be able to give stuff up as I am sooo ready to get this done and get the weight off!

I know right now I am super excited and want it done but once November comes, I'll have 2 more tests/appts to do and then I'll host Thanksgiving, so I'll be busy with that. I'll also want to decorate for Christmas because decorations make me happy!
