Caffeine withdrawl

Day 2 preop diet (15 pounds to lose b 4 surg). I have cut caffeine out (VERY Hard). I usually have a lot of caffeine throughout the day!!!!How long will I have a headache?

Until you take a Tylenol.

That sounds funny or sarcastic, but Mine did not go away. I stayed hydrated and then finally purchased coffee Protein and it helped. It's the fewer carbs/less caffeine that kicks it in.

Hope this helps. And just know this...it's worth it and it is definitely easier after day 3.

I was in love with caffeine. It was the second hardest part of the pre op diet for me, and the headache lasted 4 days. I still miss it, but once you hit the 3rd or 4th day you will be fine. Hang in there it gets easier!!

I once had a caffeine withdrawal headache that lasted a week and a half! I'm hoping to wean instead if cold turkey this time.

Going cold turkey is rough. I weened off caffeine over a period of a couple of weeks.

Sorry you are having a rough time. Not that I would recommend going against your pre op diet maybe have a cup of half caf to take the edge off.

Took some exception migraine... Waiting for it to kick in..., thanks for the advice everyone!

I weaned off caffeine and then 4 months after surgery I'm back to a cup a day of coffee. :huh:
