  1. I have people telling me all the time not to loose anymore weight because I'm to skinny as it is, and it really bothers me because why didn't these same people ever come up to me when I weighed over 300 pounds and voice their concern about how unhealthy it was being that big? I have heard skinny people in the past say that it hurt their feelings when people would call them toooo skinny and I thought yah right I wish I had that problem but now I get it.

  2. So I am at this out of town convetion for a few days.

All the women sitting at my table seemed skinny-am I still the heaviest at my table-really?!! This time last year I was 258-and was 248 the week before surgery-now I am 207. I am wearing a size 16 (regular 16s-not plus size) and I am still the heaviest? Really?

How is it that other women stay slender and I do not?!

Is it genetics-seriously? Okay-my goal is to not be the fattest woman in any given room. Certain rooms that is true. I thought I looked really good today, before I left my daughter said I looked skinny. OK 207 isn't skinny for 5'6 but I felt good.

Do you ever look around to see if you are the heaviest? I don't want to be the fat one anymore. I

I am so sorry you felt this way but trust me it wont be like that for long! You are doing great. The only advice I can give you for now is to at least acknowledge that you are not where you used to be, I wish I gave myself more credit for that during my journey.

  3. I was under the impression that all I needed to pay was the $3,000 non professional fee to my surgeon that insurance won't cover. I have had an additonal bill after another from my surgeon, her assistant, the hospital and others. I'm not a happy camper when this is now over $7,000 that I paid out of pocket AND I had insurance! They paid for 80% of it. The extra costs are killing me! I was banded in June and still just 2 weeks ago recieved another bill. Anyone else experience this? Wouldn't the surgeon's office be nice enough to warn you? I specifically asked the surgeon and my insurance about this type of thing and was told not to worry.

I did not have this happen to me but something does not seem quite right. I would talk to someone in the office about this, usually the assistance get paid under the doctors fees and so on. Contact your insurance company too and make sure the surgeons office is not double billing.

  4. so, something strange happened this morning. I logged on to my hospitals web forum to find a private message from my mentor fro mthe clinic. She's been wonderful to me. she was one of the first people I reached out to at the office who was walking the same journey as I am. Today the message was her asking for my help because I have surpassed her weight loss! OMG that was totally unexpected!

    Just wanted to share.

What a great feeling that must have been for you, and good for her on knowing when to reach out herself.

  5. Hello all, I usually don't post but lurk and I have enjoyed reading this forum, but now I need some advise please.

I feel like such a liar and here is my problem, I was banded 2 years ago and weighed 325 pounds I now weigh 150 pounds and am 5 pounds away from goal. I work out at the gym everyday and eat healthy as well. I have 5cc's in my 10cc band. Lately I have had some people who see me at the gym everyday and say way to go you look great and I always say thank you but recently I have had 2 women come up to me and tell me that they have been watching me and that they remember how big I was when I started and that I motivate them and then they ask me what are you doing? Here is where I become a liar, I don't tell them about the band I always wanted to be private about it. Big mistake I feel.

The only people who know about my band are my husband, (who is banded) my kids, and my side of the family (who live out of town). When people walk by and say way to go I didn't feel the need to say I'm banded. But with these 2 ladies it feels different they are heavier and really seem like they are looking for answers on how they can loose weight. I told them how I eat and how much I workout but I feel so wrong! I remember when I was looking for answers. So I need advise on how do I come clean with people I meet at the gym and have talked to without having to switch to a new gym lol?

  6. I WOULD LOVE IT IF PEOPLE THAT HAVE LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT TO COME HERE AND TELL TELL ME WHAT YOU EAT WHAT KIND OF EXERCISE. TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO. I FIND IT AMAZING HOW PEOPLE CAN LOSE SO MUCH WEIGHT. I AM STRUGGLE BAD. I NEED TO HEAR YOUR SUCCESS STORIES. THANKS EVERYONE

Hello, I am down 150 pounds and it took me a year and a half to lose that. I am 20 pounds away from my goal weight and hope to be there by this August. The way I eat is all natural, and unprocessed foods. If It groans in the ground, roams in the field, swims in Water or flies in the sky I eat it. The options of what to cook are endless and surprisingly low in calories. As far as my workout goes, I started out just walking at the gym and doing Water aerobics to build up my stamina and self confidence. Now I no longer walk but I run 4 days a week along with pilates tower 2 times a week and TRX training once a week. I am sorry that you are struggling we all have days like that. Do you have proper restriction yet? That makes a big difference. Hang in there you can do it!

  7. I am so sorry about your set back. Try to find another workout you can do that wont bother your muscle you don't want to cause further injury to it. I will defiantly pray for you! God bless

Somehow I pulled a muscle and its very painful. All I've done is my DVD walking off the pounds. and now I can hardly walk. It is most depressing. We are paying the price to lose weight. But I'm encouraged it will be worth it.

Now the pain has gone right side to my left side... I cannot stand or sometimes sit .... Yall pray for me.(lol)

  8. 19 lbs is fantastic! :) I didn't lose weight until 4 weeks after surgery because of all the fluids they pump in you but..... a little over a year later i am down 122 lbs! Hang in there let yourself heal and follow the rules your surgeon has given you. As far as the starvation mode goes I don't know about that. IMO as long as you are getting in all your protien your body will use the reserve energy you have (fat).
