    Surgery

Psych and nutritionist was a one time visit for me.
  3. I was unable to get my first fill because I had HB. My doc told me that it was a sign of my band telling me that 1)I'm eating too fast and not chewing my food as much as I shud. 2) I wasn't eating the right food and my band isn't agreeing with it. 3) I'm eating too much. Definitly wasn't 2 or 3. So I started to eat slower with a CONSTANT reminder in my head that if I didn't I was gonna get heart burn. Well it worked! Haven't had HB since I've been eating slower and chew more. Good luck to u guys and hope u get through it.
  4. I'm on the same boat as u Sandy. I've been stuck @ 9 pounds dropped and nothing more. I'm bummed as well...I go back to the doc in February and I'm hoping to have my first fill then. Good luck to u all!!!!

    no restrictions

Same here...banded 11/16 and NO restriction after 2 weeks. My first fill isn't till 2/11! I was actually on the bed ready and numbed for a fill. I started telling her about how I get a lot of heart burn. Doc stopped and said that that was my restriction. My band is telling me to stop. Can u believe after that visit I haven't had one episode of heart burn!? Talk about being bummed haha
  6. Thanks dk4k! I'm just not getting the whole protein thing. I don't drink protein shakes or anything. I do eat protein meal replacement bars...maybe that's not enough protein? I can go a week and not see numbers move on the scale so I say screw I will eat what I want and be happy. Childish thinking I know right? So yes I'm doing it to my self but I feel like I have no control! I was told a million times that the band is just there for support...I just can't seem to make that stick in my head when I chose fast food over homeade healthy foods! Its hard!!!!! Sorry for venting a little too much!
  7. I had surgery on Nov. 16th. I haven't had a fill yet nor am I scheduled for one yet. I go for a check up on the 28th of Dec. I am only down 9 pounds. I lost those 9 pounds a week after surgery and nothing else has dropped. I feel like I'm failing with this band. =(

    My non-health banding reasons...

I love it! THATS JUST KEEPING IT REAL!!!!! LOL my kind of girl! I can relate to the same things. I will share a embarrassing story. I went to Knotts Berry farm in July with my 2 kiddos and my sister. I ATTEMPTED to get on a ride with my daughter...can u guess the ending??? LOL BAR WUD NOT CLOSE! If I wud have sucked it up a little more it probably wud have but not safe for my 3 year old. So this was one of my main reasons to have this done was so that I can do fun things with my kids. I was able to with my son cuz I wasn't that big back then...he's 10 now. This is why I believe in karma cuz about 3 yrs ago my husband tried to get on a ride with our son and they kicked him off and I laughed!!! LAUGHED WITH HIM...I wud have never laughed if it hurt his feelings! So becuz I laughed it kicked me in the butt too! Lol ok so I totally get u on ur reasons! Best of luck to u!

    Ugg my husband Ugg...

Wow! I went through that this morning but with my mom! Lol I called my husband later to tell him about her comments and that made him mad. Haha only my story is I DO FEEL I can eat almost anything but I don't and my weight loss hasn't really been to successful in my eyes. I know I've read a thousand times we can't compare each others weight loss...so all in time it will happen I guess! All we can do is try our best. Oh and Randomran u r such a good person for eanting to be there for support! Thumbs up to that! Well I wish u guys lots of luck!

    New to Forum: Just Banded

I had to attend 4 educational classes for this surgery and meet with a dietician regularly. Yes I am thankful and they were very helpful. However, when I got to the post op side I felt like I still new nothing about this surgery and the next steps! Haha my point is...this website has been so helpful and people on here are wonderful! So yes any questions u have u can definetly ask someone on here. I would say ask me but I still have a lot to learn! Haha good luck with everything!
  12. Nice! When did u have surgery? Where did u get to see Pauly D? LUCKY! Lol I'm married but my husband knows I wud kick him to the curve if I ran into Pauly D! Lol I say that with lots of love I wud only do that in my dreams! Haha well I'm ur original size I hope to get to smaller sizes!!!! Good luck on ur journey!

    November Bandsters!

Hi! I felt the same way u did after surgery. With just a drink of water I felt nauseated. I called my doc and he prescribed me a medication for it. Not sure if it was a coinsidence but after I took one pill that day I felt way better the next day. It was to good to be true after how I felt. I was able to drink almost a whole water bottle that day. All I have learned is that in time it gets a little better. Hope u feel better soon!

    silver linings

Hmmmm sounds like way too much stress for u right now! Take care of yourself and do what's best for u and ur family!
  16. Same here! I had my one week post op check up and my doc moved me to the mushy foods. I feel like I can eat anything but of course in small portions. I am relieved but scared at the same time because I wasn't imagining it being this easy being that I just had surgery on the 16th as well. So yes u guys r right this is where I guess our will power has to kick in. I will get back to u guys to let u know if I find some! =/ jk I wish u guys the best!

    Help, banded 2 days ago

I have read that diarreah is to be expected on 3-5 day post op. I am 8 days post op and never experienced that. In my binder it says to take immodium for it. Please ask ur doc first don't go by the information that was given to me by my doc. As far as the a couple of ice chips and stuff just continue to eat them. I really couldn't get anything more then 3 oz of water a day the first couple of days. =( the next couple of days shud be better as far as being thirsty.
  18. Ashley I was banded on the 16th. Today marks one week. I know excatly what u r feeling. I'm scared to say anything but I know I will have to. I just don't want to return to the hospital! Haha I have my one week post op appt tomorrow so I will have to bring that up! =/

    I'm Banded...now what?

I really felt thirsty and hungry on my 5th day post op. I had to call the doctor because I wasn't even getting in 4 oz of water a day because I was nauseated all the time. He called a prescription for me for nausea and IT WORKED! I am very thirsty now and I am not scared to drink water anymore! This was really tougher then I thought it was gonna be. I'm glad I took 2 weeks off after all because I was planning on going back to work the week after surgery! WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Haha I read a lot of stories on here about people going back to work 3 days later....those r some very tough people!
  20. I had surgery last Tuesday November 16. I have taken pain meds EVERYDAY. Today has a been a good day so far so I haven't taken any meds today. I am worried that something is wrong on my port site because that's where I have tons of pain. I guess I will find out tomorrow at my one week post op appt to see what's going on. Today I ate oatmeal for breakfast. It was pretty scary but luckily everything settled well! I wish everyone the best in the upcoming adventures of weight loss!
  21. Hi Ashly, My whole process started at the end of June. I am having surgery done tomorrow the 16th. =/ I am a nervous wreck right now so I keep logging on here to remind myself that I will be a happier person after all this! I live in so-cal area too. I think Ventura is about 4 hours from where I live...not too sure. Anyway...Im on here quit often reading tons of things hardly ever post things tho. Hope all goes well with your surgery!

    11-8-10 Banded YEHEY!

I'm scheduled this Tuesday on the 16th. I wasn't aware of the tube they stick down your throat. After the doc said that...I had a lot of second thoughts. Yes its something they will do when Im sleeping but just the thought. Not sure if I can do this...I have never had the will power to stay away from "good food". I'm scared of anxiety attacks just because I want something that I know I cant have. =( I hope I am strong enough to show up for surgery on Tuesday. Everyone keep up the good work.
