Psych and nutritionist was a one time visit for me.- Surgery
- Heartburn and tightness all of a sudden!
I was unable to get my first fill because I had HB. My doc told me that it was a sign of my band telling me that 1)I'm eating too fast and not chewing my food as much as I shud. 2) I wasn't eating the right food and my band isn't agreeing with it. 3) I'm eating too much. Definitly wasn't 2 or 3. So I started to eat slower with a CONSTANT reminder in my head that if I didn't I was gonna get heart burn. Well it worked! Haven't had HB since I've been eating slower and chew more. Good luck to u guys and hope u get through it.- November 2010 Bandsters - post op
I'm on the same boat as u Sandy. I've been stuck @ 9 pounds dropped and nothing more. I'm bummed as well...I go back to the doc in February and I'm hoping to have my first fill then. Good luck to u all!!!!- no restrictions
Same here...banded 11/16 and NO restriction after 2 weeks. My first fill isn't till 2/11! I was actually on the bed ready and numbed for a fill. I started telling her about how I get a lot of heart burn. Doc stopped and said that that was my restriction. My band is telling me to stop. Can u believe after that visit I haven't had one episode of heart burn!? Talk about being bummed haha- November 2010 Bandsters - post op
Thanks dk4k! I'm just not getting the whole protein thing. I don't drink protein shakes or anything. I do eat protein meal replacement bars...maybe that's not enough protein? I can go a week and not see numbers move on the scale so I say screw I will eat what I want and be happy. Childish thinking I know right? So yes I'm doing it to my self but I feel like I have no control! I was told a million times that the band is just there for support...I just can't seem to make that stick in my head when I chose fast food over homeade healthy foods! Its hard!!!!! Sorry for venting a little too much!- November 2010 Bandsters - post op
I had surgery on Nov. 16th. I haven't had a fill yet nor am I scheduled for one yet. I go for a check up on the 28th of Dec. I am only down 9 pounds. I lost those 9 pounds a week after surgery and nothing else has dropped. I feel like I'm failing with this band. =(- Don't have a clue, this question is to all who will reads.
I've read tons on here when I first started my journey. It just all depends on ins co. It took my ins. Co. 10 business days. What took up a lot of time was waiting for dates for the seminars and other group meetings. It will go by fast! Good luck!- My non-health banding reasons...
I love it! THATS JUST KEEPING IT REAL!!!!! LOL my kind of girl! I can relate to the same things. I will share a embarrassing story. I went to Knotts Berry farm in July with my 2 kiddos and my sister. I ATTEMPTED to get on a ride with my daughter...can u guess the ending??? LOL BAR WUD NOT CLOSE! If I wud have sucked it up a little more it probably wud have but not safe for my 3 year old. So this was one of my main reasons to have this done was so that I can do fun things with my kids. I was able to with my son cuz I wasn't that big back then...he's 10 now. This is why I believe in karma cuz about 3 yrs ago my husband tried to get on a ride with our son and they kicked him off and I laughed!!! LAUGHED WITH HIM...I wud have never laughed if it hurt his feelings! So becuz I laughed it kicked me in the butt too! Lol ok so I totally get u on ur reasons! Best of luck to u!- Ugg my husband Ugg...
Wow! I went through that this morning but with my mom! Lol I called my husband later to tell him about her comments and that made him mad. Haha only my story is I DO FEEL I can eat almost anything but I don't and my weight loss hasn't really been to successful in my eyes. I know I've read a thousand times we can't compare each others weight loss...so all in time it will happen I guess! All we can do is try our best. Oh and Randomran u r such a good person for eanting to be there for support! Thumbs up to that! Well I wish u guys lots of luck!- New to Forum: Just Banded
I had to attend 4 educational classes for this surgery and meet with a dietician regularly. Yes I am thankful and they were very helpful. However, when I got to the post op side I felt like I still new nothing about this surgery and the next steps! Haha my point is...this website has been so helpful and people on here are wonderful! So yes any questions u have u can definetly ask someone on here. I would say ask me but I still have a lot to learn! Haha good luck with everything!- ♪♫*♪ It's been a minute...♪♫*♪
Nice! When did u have surgery? Where did u get to see Pauly D? LUCKY! Lol I'm married but my husband knows I wud kick him to the curve if I ran into Pauly D! Lol I say that with lots of love I wud only do that in my dreams! Haha well I'm ur original size I hope to get to smaller sizes!!!! Good luck on ur journey!- November Bandsters!
Hi! I felt the same way u did after surgery. With just a drink of water I felt nauseated. I called my doc and he prescribed me a medication for it. Not sure if it was a coinsidence but after I took one pill that day I felt way better the next day. It was to good to be true after how I felt. I was able to drink almost a whole water bottle that day. All I have learned is that in time it gets a little better. Hope u feel better soon!- Banded 11/15/10...
