    Diet pills

I don't know if you CAN or even if you SHOULD but personally I wouldn't. Plus you tell nothing of your lapband journey so others would probaly like some personal data to use as a guide in replying

    Longer term Success

You are one amazing women & a great inspiration!!!
  7. I think the fact that you are feeling guilt & not pain is a good sign that you did no damage surgically speaking, just damage to your confidence. Keep aware of any physical discomforts and you can call your doctor for a professional opinion! Now put it behind you & take another step forward to your future

    I'm being treated differently

The only real problem I have with this theory is that since my husband has become disabled (he is thin) we have experienced people being judgmental first hand. You see he me had a massive heart attack, needed 3 heart surgeries, including a valve replacement and the complete rupture of his Papilary muscle to which there is no repair. On the outside he looks perfectly healthy....well if wearing a shirt that hides the pesky scar that the 49 surgical staples left LOL! Anyway you would be surprised how often we hear under the breath snarky comments when using handicapped spots or the always popular "why don't you work" as well as many other obviously negative directives. So alas while I hate to seems jaded I have to admit many people suck that way. The good news is we don't have to dwell on them & shouldn't give them control of our feelings or emotions

    Worried!!!

For me there was no difference until I had a fill or two, before that I had no restriction to speak of. Of course I did chew very well and take small bites but I suspect for me that was just practice for my future needs. As others say, it is a time for healing (we were just sliced open and poked/prodded after all) so no matter what your doctors instructions are you should follow them because healing is job #1 for your future success!

    Worried!!!

Every doctor has different dietary rules so I suspect you will get comments that range from of course you can to you are progressing with your foods too fast. I'd suggest calling your doctors office to get more specific dos & dont's from them. My doctor puts us on mushy foods the day following surgery. As a matter of fact we need to eat a bit before we leave the hospital (farina if it is breakfast time or cottage cheese/tuna salad for lunch time)

    Suspected slipped band

Why is it only a suspected slip? An endoscopy will tell you immediately if it is.

confused pre op vs post op

Just as an example of the vast difference between doctors, my doctor puts his patients on mushies the day following surgery to be supplemented with protein shakes. I am in no way suggesting this is what you should do, just pointing it out to show you how important it is to talk to your own doctor!
  15. #5 #6 & #8 should all be happening for you already!! Clearly you are a new person already, don't doubt that, which leads me to #5 & #6. I have been on the weight loss journey my entire adult life (I'm less then a month away from turning 49), only the last 3 years of which were Lapband related. Anyway I have come to some very important realizations along the way. No one will be more confident when at goal weight unless they find things to build their confidence along the way. I don't even know you but I can tell you that you should be confident for the reason you have hopes & dreams for your future (weight related or not). Even better you had the courage to come here & post them. Way to go, that is awesome & inspiring!!!! Furthermore no one smiles like you are in your profile picture unless they believe in themselves....see confidence!! Now get away from your laptop & live the life you were meant to lol :)

    Expecting Lap Band removal

Sorry to hear you had such difficulties I am sure the removal will offer you some relief but I think the valve fix will be far more beneficial & let's not forget the hernia!! Basically your digestive track needs a huge break!! I have had assorted family members with stomach issues and they can be very painful. While I have had no complications I know there are some who do. In a perfect world everyone's body would react perfectly to WLS but it is not a perfect world, the human body can be quite a mysterious thing!! I hope you are soon on the road to better health & good luck!!
  17. Awesome!!! Congrats & enjoy your success

Is no one here any more

I think you might be having some technical difficulties because I see dozens of recent posts & various questions/topics. Wonder what could be up?!?! Good you are back though, you can face having to lose 20lbs way easier then 90, you will get it off!!

Protein shakes - Hard to choose

I tried many & my personal fave is GNC Total Lean, 170 calories/25 grams Protein/6 grams carbs/3 grams fiber & 25% of daily vitamins. They have ready made in either vanilla, chocolate & strawberry (!4 ounces I think), plus they have assorted other flavors in the powders. I used ready made only because I'm lazy LOL. I found they tasted very good, were creamy & kept me quite satisfied. I still choose them as a meal replacement sometimes when a shake is more convenient because I genuinely like them.
  21. Your co workers seem to have a lot of time on their hands if they are noticing/commenting on how little you are eating!! Either they have nothing of interest in their lives they wish to chat about during your lunch breaks or lunch is just way to long LOL. Personally I am the type who has told everyone because I wanted/needed that as part of my overall life change. I've had mostly all positive interest & support from all which I assume to be sincere....or at least they are keeping negative thoughts to themselves Any negative comments are easily dismissed by my knowledge of the fact I know that they don't know the real deal of this process.
  22. Just to ease your mind in response to the many posters saying you are progressing too fast......Every surgeon has a somewhat to majorly different protocol. I actually had to eat some thin tuna salad or cottage cheese before I was discharged from the hospital after the surgery (I was in 1 day only) & was to continue immediately on mushies. My mushy list also included ground beef or chicken with sauce for moisture besides all the usual mushy foods. I was then moved to solids 4 weeks post op. I am not telling you this to tell you what to eat I am just telling you this to show an example of how different surgeons expect different things. We all need to be aware of that on these message boards or we will scare the pants off each other

    Breakdown Moment

I have been banded over 2 years, have lost 109 lbs & you want to know a secret......every few weeks I have a dessert & glass of fat free milk I am truly in the mood for instead of/as my meal!!! OMG am I going to lapband hell???? I don't keep my band wicked tight & although it means I have lost weight slower then many (I still have about 25lbs to lose) for my personal growth in my relationship with food it is the best way to go. Congrats on all you are doing to help yourself & your health!!!
