  6. thank you! I started noticing the next morning that something wasnt right because it was painful to drink and eat. As the day progressed, it became more and more intense. i started to throw up everything. Around 5 pm i couldnt take the pain and went to the ER. so i would say a good 8 to 10 hours after the accident.

    Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?

hey DD! I just had surgery the day before yesterday to fix my band that slipped. I was in a car accident which caused my band to slip.. Crazy but true! Lol anyways thr surgery was a breeze... Not painful at all.. Just a lttle sore thats it! You should be fine...I will keep you in my prayers!
  9. I just want to be clear and let everyone know I was saying, if you are involved in an accident then its a good idea to get checked up, because you never know. When I was invovled in my car accident, I went to the hosptial and only had my neck and head checked out. It wasnt the next day that I started to experience the pain. I didn't put this post out there to scare anyone, only to inform everyone because I did not want anyone to go through what I had gone through. I trust what my doctor has said and believe his word.
  10. Thank you everyone for the well wishes! Yeah it took me completley by surprise when my doctor said that the accident caused the slip. ( I think it actually took him by surprise as well, because he said he has never seen this actually happen.) I was in so so so so so SOOOO much pain. I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. I can't even discribe the pain because it was so unbareable. They kept on giving me Morphin which helped cause the pain to subside for maybe an hour but then after it hit my body I was just throwing up... Ahh I pray that no one ever has to go through what I had to.. NOT FUN.... So now I am starting over.. which I needed because I had just passed my year mark and my weightloss was going very slow.. so now I am going to do everything right and try and stay focused. lol
  11. I have had the same issue several times.. It's always when I get to 5 cc's I always have issues. I am fine for a couple of days then something, wither it's food or juice just gets stuck. Speaking for myself.. I can't really eat anything in the morning because my band is always tighter in the am. So I usually workout in the am because for some reason it makes it looser. Also you may want to tell you doc to fill you slowly.. being instead on 1.5 cc just have him put .75 cc's in. Hope you feel better!
  12. Hello Everyone, I was involved in a car accident on Tuesday. I was rear ended on Tuesday, my neck and head was hurting me. I had no signs of my band having troubles/issues until the next day. I was at workign and noticed I couldn't keep anything down... (water... solids) etc. I started to experience pains where my port is... So I drove myself to the hospital to see if I can have some liquid removed... My doctor.. (Dr. Soong... he is the best!) said he wanted to get an xray to see if the band is alright... well it wasnt.. My band had not only slipped but also moved.. By that time I was in soooooo much pain.. I can't even discribe the pain I was in... I had to have surgery the next day (yesterday) and have the band repositioned. After I came out of surgery I felt ten times better. So now I am basically starting all over.. Just liquids for 3 weeks.. etc... I am posting this because if anyone gets in an accident, please please please have them check you ASAP to avoid going through what I did..
  13. Hello Fello Lap Banders!!!! Okay I have not been on this site, in what seems like forever. I was banded back on Aug 8th, 2008 and I am coming up on my one year anniversy. As that date is approaching, I can't help but be disapointed in myself. The day I was banded I weighed 314 pounds. As of today I weigh 263 pounds. I am taking responsiblity because I am NOT eating right at all. I don't know if anyone is having as much trouble as I am with staying away from the bad foods. Let me say this, I know that the band is only a tool and we must take account for what we put in our bodies. I am fully aware of this and I totally agree. But here is the thing, after going through this process of being banded and living with it, I discovered that I have a major addition to food. I mean a major addiction. I think about food day and night, which I know is not normal. Anyways, back to the problem. I have had issues with my band. I have a 10cc band and everytime I get filled to 5cc a few days later, I can be just drinking water and it gets stuck. Which leads me to throwing up because the water will not go down. Then I am in major pain which leads me having to go back into the doctors office and getting a full unfill, which means I have to start all over. This totally sucks.. lol I just want to be able to keep my 5cc fill and be happy. When I get an unfill my mind goes into the "I can eat whatever I want mood" .. and I want to control it but its so hard... I have a apt for a fill this upcoming wed and I want to start fresh.. So I am going to beg and plead with my doc to fill me up at least to a 4.5 or 5 cc and do straight liquids for like a week... But I want to know if anyone has been struggling like I have? Any help or advice you may have would be much appericated. Have a great weekend, Lisa

    Problem with fills

OMG... so I totally have had this same issue! And I finally had enough of the punishment and called the On call docter. He had me go to the office and unfill me completely... So I did.. right when he did that I felt ten times better.. He said if within three or four hours if I am still not able to keep anything down then he wants me to call him and I go to the ER for a xray. I am fine now (I can eat and drink anything) BUT not i have the bubble stomach issues and the running to the bathroom that comes with it... AHHHH.... The advice I received is that to do the fills slowy... like put 5 or 6 weeks in between each fill.. I think my mistake was.. I had my surgery in August and was already on my 3rd fill.... ahhh..... so slow and steady..
  15. Hey Everyone, Okay I do not mean to sound like a "Debbie Downer" but I was banded on August 8, 2008. I have experienced some weightloss which is good, but I have had some issues with my band. I have had a total of 4 fills.. BUT had to have some taken out because I couldn't keep anything down. So it's been a lil over a month since I had to have some removed. Anyways.. with my first few fills I didn't have issues with eating etc. NOW I am having issues... first is in the morning when I drink anything.. omg I have major pains.. like traped gas and its seriously painful when it goes down.. And yesterday I had two bites of pizza (I know.. my own fault..) and OMG I was in such terrible pain for the rest of the night.. I ended up throwing up 3 times.. and today its hard for me to drink liquids.. ahh I am afraid to try food... cause if liquids hurt.. I can only imagine... Anyone have this issue? Or have advice?
