My surgery is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 6th. ***my birthday is December 9th, how cool is that?**Ok, the reality of it all is finally setting in and I'm anxious and excited. I've been stalking this site for a while, then finally joined and now I'll soon be on the losers bench with most of you. I'm hoping you Sleevies (cute nickname huh?) can give me some questions that I should definitely ask my surgeon. So far my list includes: 1. How long will I be in the hospital 2. Do you use a drainage tube? Why/or Why not 3. What pain meds do you prescribe? 4. Can you please keep me off from work for the entire month of December 5. At what intervals are the follow up visits 6. Can you please not kill me....KThanks

Hello Everyone! I'm new to this board, but I've been active on OH for a while. I am very excited to be less than 2 weeks away from my surgery! It's scheduled for Nov 15th (my Mom's bday). I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone as I learn along the way. Thanks for your support and encouragement in advance! Lovely:tongue2:

Wow! Amazing! Congrats!!

Wow...glad to see so many of us scheduled for Nov. 15th, my Mom's bday!!! Anyway, my preOp diet consists of high protein/low carb. So I've been doing a mix of shakes, meat, eggs, lf cheese and good veggies so far it hasn't been to bad. I'm nearly a week into and I feel good. I'm just committed to doing whatever will make my surgery outcome and healing more successful. My surgeon requires this type of diet to reduce the fat and size of the liver, which lays over the stomach. My approval journey was relatively short. I had my first WLS appt Sept 16th, all of my clearances were submitted to insurance (UHC) Oct 12th an I was approved on the 20th and scheduled for sugery this past Monday. So quick and I'm glad b/c I would like to have reach a small goal by my bday (Dec. 9th) and definitely seeing results when I ring in 2011!! So excited to have a group to keep up with!!! Yay!

Yaay! My date is November 15th...that's my Mom's bday. Ad date that will be special and memorable for two reasons now:thumbup:
