    February 2007 bandsters!

Hello everyone, It has been a while huh? I am doing well but could be better. I got down to 189 then packed on 20 lbs after my Grandfather died over the Holidays. The emotional eating gets me everytime....I really wish they had a lapband for the brain! I just signed up for an 8 week extreme weight loss beach body competition. It will involve a very restricted diet and working out every day. Wish me luck....if I could afford it I would get my butt over to the Biggest Loser Fitness resort but I'll have to save for a year before I will be able to go. Best of luck to all of you and THANK YOU for starting this thread up again! Nicole

    a shared moment of joy

congrats to all of you who have either conquered the evil airplane belt or are on their way...it is quite a happy feeling that only we LB girls and guys can share! I also noticed that the elliptical glider at the gym that hit both sides of my butt while working out, now has a couple inches of space on either side. NICE!

    a shared moment of joy

I just wanted to share with all of you the wonderful moment I had on April 1st in row f seat b of Jet blue airlines. I was...as always very nervous about the seatbelt fitting...and as I clicked it and pulled it I notice how much belt there was left. Yes, this made me happy but then I tested the waters to see if I could seat my 22 month daughter on my lap and still fit in the belt and....yes ....yes ....yes! I started tearing up and my husband thought that I was crying because I had painful gas from the air pressure. I replied..for once....I don't have gas! :blushing:

    Whats this lump!

Sue and Steph, Thanks for responding so quickly, I have a feeling that it is my port because I have lost a quick 5 pounds within the last week and 1/2 from really working out at the gym. Could it be that I'm actually feeling somthing other than the layers of fat that have always been there...hopfully yes. Yes it sounds weird but it sure makes me feel good!

    Whats this lump!

I have noticed lately that when I press down on my stomach there is a lump on one side where my abs are. I would say it would be from working out but it is only on one side. I am going to call my Doctor but I am feeling a little scared right now and wonder if this is normal (could it be the band) or if not if anyone else has experienced this. Any responce would be appreciated. Thanks:confused2:

    My list of exercise questions

I have been going to the gym now for about a couple weeks now and I wanted to make sure that I'm doing the right thing. Iwould love to get a trainer but I can't afford one. Here is my list of questions, I would appreciate it if anyone could try to help out. My daily routine has been 35min on elliptical (400 cals) and then 30 on this new jogging bouncing machine (325 cals). just for the cardio a total of 725 cals burned. After that I have been doing about 15 minutes on either upper or lower body weight training. and then 5 minutes on abbs. My questions: 1. should I be doing more or less of a certain thing to lose the weight? I still have about 50 lbs to lose. 2. How many days should I work out? Is it OK to workout everyday or does the body need time to rest? 3. Is it better to do training first or cardio? 4. when should I start stepping things up? 5. Is there a certain exercise to help with making my legs look straight...I have legs that alway touch at the knees and then go out at the ankles(reverse bow legs!:0) 6. Lastly, I want a bodybugg ssssooooo bad but can't afford one, is it really worth it? Is the wrist band a must have? I will sell my clothes that don't fit anymore to buy one. Anyone have one that wants to sell because they have reached their goal? Thanks in advance for any responses!

No loss after 2wks at the gym

Thanks for your responces...I just checked the measurements and YESSSSS!!! You were totally right! I guess I was just consumed on how miserable I was about not losing that I didn't think to check my measurements. wow, I went from a 52 and 1/2" waist to 48!!!! I will also focus on drinking more Water. I agree with you about the retaining of water.....doesn't sound crazy at all. I really needed a pick me up today and now this has made the day!

No loss after 2wks at the gym

Just wondering if anyone knows if it is normal to stay at a plateau after 2 weeks of majorly working out at the gym or is my body just being super difficult. I have worked out burning 600 cals a day for 6 days each week, I also started doing weights, squats and crunches. I feel like my body really doesn't want me to see the 100's! I am so frustrated right now ....I am almost (but not going to) throw in the towel. I just started crying after stepping off the scale today. Any words of advice or encouragment:crying:?

    My April Challenge

My personal challenge for April will be: first week...burn 450 cals on whatever piece of gym (or home) equipment I want 5 times a week second week...burn 500 cals " " third week...burn 550 cals " " fourth week..burn 600 cals" " I will try to get it all in at once but if I have to I will do a little in the morning, and a little at night. I really want to be under 200 pounds next month! Anyone can join me on this one at your own pace or target calorie loss. I made my ticker so that it equaled 22 workouts (give or take).

    Am I addict-aholic?

Since the surgery I have traveled from one addiction to another. First was food, then I got the surgery and then I fell in love with the pain killers, once those ran out I started drinking alcohol finally I gave that up on jan 3rd and have picked up quite a sweet tooth. Is this normal or am I all alone on this one?

    February 2007 bandsters!

I would love to get in on an April challange as well. I'm stuck at 207 and would love to be under 200 by the end of april. I also just joined a gym for the first time since the surgery last year. Anyone else?
