I just had my 2nd fill this past Saturday. I am feeling the restriction now. The doctor told me not to eat anything with white flour, white rice, and carbonated drinks because it will expand my new pouch. So I've changed my diet. Today I ate popeye's chicken. I ate one leg and it was good!!! After I ate it my chest started hurting and I had a hard time breathing, omg what happened? is this normal? I'm not eating any more!

It will be 3 weeks with my band tomorrow. I have lost at least 12 pounds already but for the past 2 days I have been feeling extra tired. I could fall asleep right now at my desk LOL. Has anyone of you felt the same way? Hit me up! :bored:
  7. Hey you~ I was banded on the 27th and i haven't lost much weight either. But I was thinking about this and thought what if i lost more weight, would my skin start to sag? I dont want to look like a skinny girl wearing a fat girl suit.
  8. I am going through the same thing. My husband and I would eat out alot too, and cooking was a special time for us because we both love food. The problem is he never gains weight! Once he ordered buffalo wings from Papa Johns and I wanted to kill him. He says, oh i wish you could eat this with me...I was like you A**h*le!. That's when I could only eat i mean drink broth! blech I hate broth!! He told me that he didnt think it would change his life too. For the past 2 weeks we have not gone out to eat, and cooking at home is different. He has his foods, and i have mine. It's a learning process for the both of us. This past weekend we went to China Town in Los Angeles. We acted like tourist and discoverd new things. That was alot of fun. We're planning to see the Pacquiao fight this Saturday with friends. Then to the Getty's museum on Sunday. Let me know what your plans are. Take Care, Dana
  9. Hi Lucy~ You made the right choice in getting the lap band. It takes will power to make changes in our life. We're all in this together. Instead of thinking of why and being disappointed, think of what can you do to make the changes. This website is a blessing, I read the blogs and I see how others have accomplished their goals, and it inspires me to keep pushing forward. It's time for you to put you first. Failure is not an option. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Take Care, Dana

Yummmmmm. I'm on the mushy stage and I just had mashed potatoes....OMG it's delicious!!! This is my 7th day post op and I'm feeling fine. Each day I walk a mile and the gas pains are gone. I feel back to normal already. :cursing:

Hi Hope~ No one told me about the pre-op diets or what to expect. My medical was approved and then I had the endoscopy on Oct 20th and surgery on the 27th. I didnt have a chance to have a second thought. The day before I ate all whatever I wanted, and it felt good. After I had the surgery then I second thoughts, but by then it was too late. It's been a week with my band and I have already lost more then 10 pounds. My jeans don't fit me anymore. The liquid only diet was a lil depressing, but with support from my family and friends, I know it's worth it. Good Luck, Dana
  14. Hi Jodi~ I know how you feel, I was banded on October 27th and it was hard for me too. After 2 days of chicken broth I said NO WAY!! I went to a Chinese Restaraunt and order won ton soup. I asked if I can only have the broth and nothing else. It tasted so much better. I hope this helps you~ Good Luck, Dana
  15. Hi Kimber~ I was banded on October 27th. I haven't felt any pain for the past 2 days and I'm feeling good. 2 days later I walked a mile to ease the gas pain. And on Saturday i walked 2 miles. On Sunday I rested and by Monday I was feeling normal. So far no hunger pains but I do miss eating crunchy things. Take Care, Dana
  16. Hi Qwiksilva1~ I was banded on October 27th, and today I jumped on the scale, then off the scale, and then on again. I thought the scale was off. But I lost 10 pounds. I feel good. Just like you I never realized how much time I spent around food. It's a new life and it's been difficult for me. I never had the chance to have a two week pre op diet. I was scheduled for the endoscopy and then the surgery. So this week has been pretty tough. I'm not starving but just miss the feeling of crunchy food in my mouth.

Hi Sherrielee, Go back to the doctor and explain the situation. If it's not working it has to be fixed. Take Care, Dana

  19. Hi Maria~ I love reading your blogs. It helps me cope with what my body is going through right now. Don't beat yourself up, it's a slip up, it's normal for anyone. Just dust yourself off and start all over again.
