  1. Why not? No need to add sugar to your diet.... It's unnecessary.
  2. Lean usually means no fat with regard to meat.... I have never heard of lean tuna. But I eat the pa ked in water version 3x a week
  3. I have no idea I was asleep. I didn't have one inserted that I know of and if I did it was removed before I woke up. I just had to go to the bathroom before I was allowed to leave.
  4. Call the closest hospital known for bariatric surgery... They should be able to point you in the right direction Good luck
  5. You most likely will Lose from the top down....just like how gravity works. First people noticed in my face... Then the mid section and finally below the waist. As for the "girls"... They went from 44c to 34 very padded B only because they hang so low I cannot cram them into an A... But they measure an A! That is the one surgery I am considering actually because it bothers me so much!
  6. Leafy veggies and Lettuce is the devil for me.... And every so often I forget it and eat it anyway.. It's always a poor choice....
  7. Addressing the support issue... This is your journey...you will make the decisions as to what to put in your mouth. Not a support team. You need a dr you can trust... One who has a staff who will be helpful.... You only need someone to drive you home from surgery and to the first week follow up. You should have someone with you in the first few days but my husband had to work so was only home at night... But that's all I needed . If you want to be married then your place is with your husband so why not start your journey where he is? You cAn find a dr there and join his support group in Which you will meet new friends and form a support group on you own. If you don't want to be married then deal with that as a separate issue... Try not to confuse the two. All the best.
  8. That is what the dr is there for. Doubtful it is serious but he will identify it and treat if needed. Good luck
  9. I look great in clothes. When removed I have sagging butt, thighs, arms and thankfully Only about a 1" tummy overhang. I still have 11 lbs to goal so am not ready yet to consider surgery to tighten up but it's something I will consider. I walked but it didn't help my thighs. Maybe weightlifting during The major losing stage may have helped but I didn't do it. The biggest thing that bothers me is my arms but I am not sure I want a scar vs the skin. I don't think you know how you will fare until you get there... And skinny saggy skin seriously looks and feels better than fat bloated skin! at least that's how I am dealing with it.
  10. Good for you! I promise you it is worth all of the effort!
  11. Being banded and flying isn't a problems. Flying 9 days after major surgery may be. Technicaly you may be fine...but until you see how your body reacts its an unknown. It was 2 weeks before I felt like the old me... So I suppose I could have done it but glad I didn't have to. Furthermore... Are you going to be able to eat properly away from home. Your body is healing and I don't know how long your dr has you on liquids but I was on them for 3 weeks. That may be a challenge Good luck
  12. 3weeks for me.... Sugar free Popsicles got me through the worst of it. At 25 calories each I allowed myself 2 a day . V8 juice (reduced sodium) is very filling as is diet hot chocolate, chix broth and of course protein shakes. Just track your calories. I allowed 1000 per day. That's a lot of drinking!
  13. I was banded on 12/9/2010 and have lost 204 lbs
  14. Only 2 weeks? Lucky you... I has 2 was preop liquid and 3 wks post op liquid. Sugar free Popsicles saved me from going crazy... And i also enjoyed protein shakes, fresh fruit smoothis, sugar free pudding, applesauce, v8 juice, soup and lots of water
  15. No makeup. And when you are very close to goal you will post that early morning I am on the way to the hospital picture on your avatar like I did.
  16. I was in a meeting recently... With 15 of my co workers I hadn't seen in some time. Of course they noticed my loss and they put it perspective when one of the guys said... Gee you have lost more than any one of us here weighs!!! Talk about a reality check!
  17. I order kids meals all the time but forgo the dessert and bread. Also do the math and check the calories. Some kids meals are very high in calories I seem to do better ordering appetizers or soup and salad. My rule of thumb is 4 oz of protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 c starch at every meal
  18. Great suggestions from the previous posters... But I think it sounds like you need a fill. In my case when I a in the green zone I don't want to cheat..and if I want a slice of birthday cake one or two bite satisfies me. I just cannot over eat. And my ap in my phone kept me accountable. I tracked every morsel that went in my mouth. It was a game to me looking up and figuring ut how many calories were in 2 m&ms.. Or how many calories was in the tartar sauce for my fish. When i was 30 lbs from goal and my dr asked me to start weaning off the app and eyeball my food choices. I was scared to death but I understood his reasoning and did it. That was 3 months ago and I am now 13 lbs from goal! You can do this!!!
  19. Whenever I travel I have to be super careful and I think it's because of the different foods I am eating. Restaurants usually offer richer foods than I am used to... Also depending on the location... cooking techniques are varied and unusual to your system. You may be trying foods you have tried before and your body just isn't used to them. Congrats on your nuptials!
  20. I have no regrets. Not one! To answer your questions...you cannot feel the band. It is around your stomach. You can feel the port but it's just like a knot under the skin. It won't bother you at all. I am very active with my friends kids and my year old granddaughter. No restrictions....in fact the weight loss has improved my activity level. Exercise isn't a problem...nor is sex. In fact both efforts are improved. I tell everyone about the band who asks, I am proud to tell people I have finally found the answer to losing and keeping the wait off!! Best of luck to you
  21. I was a self pay and my dr did require a psych eval which my insurance paid for... Which I thought was funny. I had my surgery 2.5 mtns after the first visit but that was my choice... Due to work constraints. I could have had it 3 weeks earlier
  22. I averaged 10 lbs per month. Now that I am close to goal (13 lbs to go) it's about 5 per month...everyone is different. My dr told me it would take 2.5 yrs. it's been 21 months
  23. Believe it or not it won't bother you as much as you think it will. I eat out with friend a lot and usually order soup or an appetizer. No one says a word. They are too busy noticing how amazing I look in my size 10s!
  24. Any loss is good... Some months you will lose more than Others....but as long as you are losing its a good thing. Also depending on how much you want to lose it is really overwhelming to get your head around it. I had over 200 l s to lose so my dr suggested I take it ten pounds at a time.... I did ok with that but I am not a very patient person so often I found myself worrying about how much more I had to lose. Now 21 months out I technically have 13 lbs to my goal. But as I get there I am thinking about losing 10 lbs more than I originally planned ... Go figure!
  25. I would find another Dr to visit. I actually spoke with 3 on the phone and 2 in person before I made my mind up who to use
