I am not a dr but Bright yellow urine may indicate dehydration.. Are you drinking lots of water? -
Ey is it that is takes weeks to prepare for Christmas and a few short hours for the presents to be torn open and the food to be consumed leaving another week of clean up....LOL

Just a question about your goals
FLORIDAYS replied to naturallyjai's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When the dr asked me that question at my first consult In my mind I recalled being 175 and comfortable once after a liquid diet... He said that was too high. I am 5'9". He suggested 150 and I freaked out. We settled on 160... Insurmountable really since that was either 217 or 227 lbs I had to lose. So I decided to take it 10 lbs at a time and see what happened. Well today I am 157... And while the race to 150 isn't imperative I would like to get there one day...just because. But don't get me wrong I am thrilled to be in a size 8 and happier with myself than I have ever been in my life. -
For me it was after about 50 lbs...but I started at 377 so you may have a different experience.

To count calories or not to count?????
FLORIDAYS replied to Thamm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe you must track your food calories during the losing stage. I used calorie counter on my phone and counted everything I put in my mouth. My number was 1000 each day to see a loss of 10 lbs a month. How else will you know how much you are consuming until you reach the green zone? but that's just what worked for me. Now that I am maintaining I don't count them on my phone ap.. But in my mind I have a running total that just comes as second nature after doing it for 2 years... And I like to be able to make wise choices... Especially when eating out. How else would I know each chicken wing from hooters is 100 calories.... You need to do what works for you...best wishes for your success... -
That is fabulous..congrats !!

If you believe you can eat about a cup of food in 20 minutes then you should be fine. The drinking with meals is a tough habit to un do but best learned by removing the liquid from the table. Wait until you see how much money you save on beverages when eating out. Best of luck to you!!!

Struggling with pre diet....surgery on Monday!!!
FLORIDAYS replied to NewLifeRight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the reson the dr puts us on a pre op diet is for several things according to my dr... Prepare liver for successful surgery by reducing the size, get you used to liquids if you are on them because usually post op is liquids only for awhile. Also you get used to the idea that food is fuel..you don't need it. You just need nutrition. Not sure what type of diet you are on but my best advice for success is to follow the drs orders. -
Oh summer that's wonderful!!! Congratulations on a successful day!!

I don't Regret getting my band at all. I spent a lifetime of losing and gaining weight and I needed a permanant solution. I found that in the band. I am maintaining now and it's doing it's job! My only caution is with the band you must do 30% of the work by making good food choices and watching your calories in the losing stage. The band will do the rest once restricted but before that... It's sheer willpower. You must be ready to give up a lot to get to your goal. If you are willing to do that and change your lifestyle and follow your drs orders...this might be a great choice for you. Best of luck!

Best wishes for a successful surgery. Pre op I was only allowed my protien shakes, water, sodium free broth and decaf coffee and tea.... . Oh and my salvation sugar free Popsicles -
To Make cutting easy I bought a pill cutter at the drug store...a few bucks and have been using it ever since. I am surprised the Percocet doesn't come in liquid.

For those if us who are losing out boobies...
FLORIDAYS replied to goalseeker's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I Was just going to do a lift...and I would have been left with pretty much nothing...so decided to add the augmentation in a modest full B. I had it along with my tummy tuck last Tuesday. I am thrilled with the results. -
Welcome deb... You may want to start a thread in the forum so you can get lots of answers to your questions, I didn't buy the book so don't know much about it. My dr gave me all the info and I read this forum a lot and took some helpful hints.

You know I was so set not to have any control but the band just wasn't letting it happen.

Thanks AJ... Not cooking anymore today...did brunch this morning and since we did last night for family later this afternoon we are headed to close friends for their dinner... They usually have a small group of 40. We go every year. LOL I am bringing desserts this year since I wasn't sure what I would be up for... And Publix baked the cheesecakes and a local bakery does awesome goodies so I cheated and bought my offering. Yesterday and this morning took a lot out of me so I have been banished to the couch while MIL and daughters clean up and hubby and his Dad watch the baby. Of course she is napping to they lucked out. LOL. I keep forgetting I am just a week out of surgery...and have a 15" scar across my hips....

Any one thats had plastic... did ins cover any?
FLORIDAYS replied to sunshine412's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Sadly...mine wasn't covered. I didn't think the breast lift and augmentation would be but I tried for the tummy tuck since I had some irritation but I it wasn't. Of course my band wasn't covered either. I have Aetna.
