  1. My hubby has been supportive from the very beginning (considered this back in 2010 but chickend out). He told his parents; I forgot to tell him I did not want to include many in on this...they have always been supportive and will not share any negative feedback whatsoever, just how they are...my family like Mom, etc are not like that. I have no plans on sharing this with my judging Mom until later on because I simply don't want to hear the negativity or the weekly weight checks. For example, I have been preparing for this surgery since March by working out with a personal trainer and carrying on a workout schedule. I have lost weight w this routine. My mother tells me "that's why you are losing, you are not doing it on your own". That was my sign...at this point, I don't need the negative comments, in my head, I have enough issues all on my own. I am so looking forward to Friday!

  2. Yeah, you were right, no biggy at all! I came home and slept for a hour or so but have since been catching up like you on the shakes/water. I'm still amazed at how fast it was over. I got in the room at 730 and woke up around 745--doc was already talking to hubby. The hernia part did surprise as I have not had any symptoms whatsover; the Doc wanted to do the EGD just to know what things looked like before the surgery...now I am really glad he did--no surprises now. Thanks for the input!!!

  3. I started the process w True Results on May 21; insurance required 3 (really 4) month med supv diet/, etc. During that time I did labs, pysch/nutrition visits, etc. Insurance paperwork submitted for approval on 8/23 (True results will not submit until everything is done); Fed BCBS approved on 8/27. On 8/29 Dr. Reilly's office scheduled my preop appt/surgery day. I met w Dr. Reilly for the preop this past Tues; had an EGD today w Dr. Reilly and surgery is on for next Friday 9/21.

  4. I am having the EGD tomorrow and I can say I am not all that excited...never done this before and don't really like the thought of something going long/thin going down my throat. I am supposed to be at the hospital at 6 a.m....I think I am going to bed soon.

  5. I have irritable bowel syndrome. Probiotics is a large part of my daily regimen. I swear by them. I talked to my surgeon and he is very on board with it. I am on a regimen of fiber as well. It is important for me to be diligent in order for me to be 'regular' and minimize my IBS flare-ups.

I have IBS too but have noticed w weight loss I have not had a severe episode requiring meds. I have not been sleeved yet but was wondering if u had any improvements since the sleeve?
