Manufacturer announcement checked August 31, 2026. Novo Nordisk announced a multi-month subscription program for eligible self-pay patients on March 31, 2026.
The dated release described enrollment through selected telehealth providers and offered three commitment lengths. A prescription and program eligibility are still required.
For the Wegovy injection pen at the listed strengths, the announcement set monthly prices at $329 with a three-month term, $299 with a six-month term, and $249 with a 12-month term. The corresponding advertised prices for the 9 mg and 25 mg tablets were $289, $269, and $249 per month.
The monthly figure should be multiplied by the subscription length to understand the commitment described in the release. That produces advertised totals of $987, $1,794, or $2,988 for the pen terms, and $867, $1,614, or $2,988 for the tablet terms. These calculations cover only the advertised subscription prices. The release directs patients to each telehealth provider for complete program terms, which vary by platform.
The manufacturer's current NovoCare page contains dose-specific self-pay offers and terms that are separate from the dated launch announcement. It also warns that offers, eligibility, and prices can change. A current checkout or program document therefore matters more than an old headline when someone is estimating cost.
Longer commitments lowered the advertised monthly rate
The program exchanges a longer commitment for a lower advertised monthly rate. The $249 figure is not the price attached to every subscription. In the launch release, it applied to the 12-month option for both listed product forms.
Cash prices differ from insurance cost sharing
People comparing payment routes need to separate a cash subscription from insurance cost sharing. A self-pay amount, an insured copay, a savings-card benefit, and a pharmacy retail price are different figures governed by different terms.
The announcement does not guarantee current pricing
The announcement does not establish a permanent national price or a universal patient cost. It does not establish identical eligibility or program terms across participating telehealth providers.
A lower advertised rate is not evidence that Wegovy is appropriate for an individual, and a prescription does not by itself establish eligibility for a particular payment program. The launch prices are dated information. Current terms should be confirmed directly in the official program materials before any financial commitment.
