    It's real now.

Hahaha exactly how I feel! My big pre-op class is the same day as my pre-op testing. I appreciate them putting it all together like that, it's like they remember we're actually people with jobs and lives and things to do lol. When is your surgery?

    Intake

Thank you Berry that makes sense. I've gone the shakes instead of parade but the clear liquid should help in both categories

I suspect most people go through this, I know I did. There are not a bunch of posts on here raving about their favorite liquid diet! If you need the real food that bad, talk to your surgeon. I did and he let me go to the egg phase at only 10 days post-op. Whatever you do though, do not deviate at this stage unless the surgeon approves. 5 minutes of food is not worth potential complications!

    It's real now.

When the lady called me to tell me I was approved and schedule a surgery date I literally said "I'm regretting all of my life choices up to this point." She started laughing. I just kept saying "wow" and also felt like ralphing. I feel better now that I went to the pre-op class. Super excited for you!!!

    Starting over!!!

It's been a few months since I went to my info session and first appointment at my primary hospital. I was denied from their program because they didn't deem my health issues weight related. They I insisted I get put on 2 different hypertension meds just so I can be able to start the program. I went to an appt @ my primary & he referred me to a diff hospital, although frustrated to start over the proccess I am so happy!!! I didn't have to wait at all, I registered to the hospital today, did my info session online and called to schedule an appt. They booked me for ALL the neccesary apts (Surgeon, Nutrition class, Nutrition assessment, nutrition follow up and psych evaluation). They are all booked for next month. Super psyched. My insurance requires 6 months of Pre op weight loss progrAm. In which my hospital provides a monthly class to fulfill that requirement. I should be having surgery by sept/October God willing. I'm upset because due to the months of waiting (to get denied from the first hospital) I developed HBP, arthritis in my knees and Edema. I've also gained 6 pounds since [emoji20][emoji20][emoji20][emoji20] but hey! Here's to the official start of my journey.

    Holy Hair Loss Batman!!

Make sure you are getting enough protein and water/fluid intake. Not getting enough of either one of these can contribute to hair loss. I'm not saying the shampoos aren't a good thing but make sure you're getting your nutrients as well.

    Day 6 Hungry

Actual hunger versus head hunger are two different things. Majority of the time it's actually head hunger whether we want to admit it or not. Your profile says your surgery was 12/16. Is that not the case or are you still on liquids? A protein shake is not going to give you a full feeling unless you drink it too fast. It's a liquid so it's going to pass through your stomach in a fairly quick amount of time. Head hunger is not cured by having WLS. That's a mental battle you have to fight. I had a bad habit of eating as soon as I got home from work. Didn't matter if I ate right before leaving room. My head told me I needed to eat when I got home even though I had no legitimate reason to. There is a difference of being satisfied with what you eat versus chasing a full feeling. The goal isn't to always feel full after every meal. You should be able to measure out a portion, eat, and walk away from the table happy.
