Tijuana at night - beautiful to look at but not safe enough to venture into. Be safe - stay inside at the hospital or hotel and BRING EARPLUGS - The traffic never stops.

This is the hotel restaurant - with THEE BEST chicken broth! All you need to do is tell them you are a Dr. Kuri patient and they bring you apple juice, jello and chicken broth.

A group of gals enjoying some time and fellowship... beside me is Tracey, she had her sugery the day before me (or was it the day after!?) and my Angel on Earth JoAnn Jackson is on the other end across from me. Apologies for forgetting the other 2 gals'

Yah - the day AFTER surgery... not hurting at this point - I did later but never anything earth shattering. I was "one of those".

Next morning almost ready to be discharged and feeling really good.

Up and about a couple hours later...lots of walking and it felt good. Check out how shiny those floors are!

OK-not flattering, but JUST after being brought back to the room after surgery. Feeling tired but not too bad!

THIS is a HOSPITAL!? What an incredible private room!! TV with DVD player, your own bathroom with walk in shower, a daybed and recliner for your travelling companion... even a SAFE IN THE ROOM!

The incomparable Dr. Pedro Kuri! The most compassionate man with a heart full of love for his patients. His care is beyond words and he has now done over 4000 lapband surgeries!

Miguel - Dr. Kuri's driver. A sweet sweet man who takes great care of you. His wife also works for Dr. Kuri. 25 minutes from the airport to the hospital BUT coming back takes a lot LOT longer due to line ups at the border

Arriving at SanDiego airport - this is where Dr. Kuri's van picked us up - just outside of the baggage claim, and it was totally convenient!

My 2 sweet babies Sam and Ella. Say that fast... Sam'n'Ella - I know I am a dork, but they were born on a farm and were sharing their food with chickens AND ducks - the names just seemed too perfect!
