Well, I pulled the trigger and scheduled a date for my spiral thigh lift! September 27. I know that's a long way off still (over six months) but my surgeon's calendar is filling up fast and she was already down to a limited number of days in August or September, which was the time frame I was aiming for. Originally I planned on late August/early September, but I was looking at the local running calendar and there is a half marathon here on September 18. I am doing my first half marathon April 24th to kick off my running season and had been contemplating the possibility of doing another to finish out my running season at the end of the summer. Well, I think I want to at le…

As stupid as this sounds, this has become a serious issue for me. Anyone else have trouble shaving their armpits after breast augmentation? It's like there is a serious "pit" there now from my implants making my skin so tight. At first I thought oh it was just because I was being cautious (because I had brachioplasty at the same time), but I have tried time and time again, paid special attention and cannot get all of the hair from one side. I am two months post op and have full arm mobility, so I know that is not the issue. HELP!

I'm 6 months post op and an beginning to consider a boob job. I liked having D-DD boobs, and miss them. What I have now are saggy Cs. I'm looking into getting the Gummy Bear implants and was wondering if anyone has had these and if so what your thoughts are on them? Do you think it was it worth the additional cost compared to silicone or saline?

I need advice! I went to see the plastic surgeon on Wednesday for consult on TT, thigh lift and breast lift. At my consult we discussed everything, brachioplasty, 360 lift, etc., spending almost an hour with pictures, and questions answered. Getting a breast lift would have to be done later and I'm not too concerned with my arms at this time. I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa, sweat gland abscesses on my upper thighs, groin and under my arms. Had them so long that I just deal with them unless they get too infected and I need to go on antibiotics. I also had twins by c-section with a vertical scar, so my stomach looks like a front-butt. I was surprised to hear back from t…

Hi everyone! After weeks of overwhelming research and headaches I finally found a PS I'm thrilled with and am scheduled for surgery April 6th!!!! I'm excited and down right terrified. Terrified because like a moron I repeatedly watch TT YouTube videos and trust me when I say they are horrendous looking, and I work in healthcare. So I'm scheduled for a full tummy tuck with muscle repair. My surgeon says I have about 3 inches of muscle separation. Also a breast augmentation. I'm going big but I'm Italian and have the large Italian boobs complements of my Nonna! Well deflated boobs now. We decided on 750cc as of now. We are hoping to avoid a lift by using a larger implant …

Anyone went through here for a breast augmentation??? They're charging $3,200 for breast augmentation which includes all fees, charges, and hospital stay. I'm really considering it but I want to hear some good stories! Anybody go through Cosmed in Tijuana?? I heard that one was good but I don't know what they charge! Thank you all in advance for your responses!!

So my insurance fully covered my panni & abdominoplasty, but they denied my brachioplasty. It makes no sense to me because when I sent in the paperwork, I have the same medical documentation for both my stomach (which they covered) and my arms (which they denied). Anyway, I appealed it and it was denied again. Now at the end of October I appealed it a second time and it is being reviewed by "an outside reviewer". I'm just wondering if anyone had any success getting a 2nd-level appeal approved or getting an appeal reviewed by an outside party approved. Waiting the 30 days is killing me. I'm kind of thinking that if they deny it this time, no one is going to approve…

Hi Everybody, Wondering if anyone could me some recommendations on plastic surgeons in Mexico. I would like to get a Tummy Tuck and possibly, a Breast Lift. I was a Sleeve Revision last September in Tijuana with Dr. Ortiz and would do it again in a heartbeat! So, I know that I get excellent care in Mexico... am looking for recommendations on doctors. Also, if you had your tummy tuck in Mexico... how long did you stay in country? Any doctors to avoid? Thank you for your help! Dottie

Just curious - for those who have had skin removal, do you know how much it weighed? I know the variation is going to be pretty wide from person to person, just trying to process in my head at what point I might want to start heading down this path (like, when I have 20 pounds left to lose, is there a good chance that's skin and I should probably start thinking about getting some consultations, etc).

Hello - My family and I will be going to Jamaica in June and I would like to start tanning pretty soon. I know that I need to protect my scars, but also do not want white lines on the backs of my arms. What has been your experience in covering your scars while tanning? Can I just use a lighter sunscreen (SPF 15 or 20)? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone recommend a good Plastic Surgeon in either Brisbane or Sydney. Im happy to travel to either state, my first quote here has been over 130k which is not going to happen. I am scheduled to have surgery in Nov. and I'm confused and feeling a bit conflicted. My insurance has agreed to cover the pani. I am paying the extra for the abdominoplasty and an upper thigh lift. The doctor tells me there will be a scar running down the center of my stomach in addition to the one that goes around the waist. I see a lot of pics here but I don't see anyone with a scar down the front of their stomach vertically. I'm not sure I want a scar that you can see like that. Also, I work out and I'm not sure I really need the muscles tightened. I would love some feedback on this. Thank you in advance.

I am no stranger to plastics, and in the past 20 months had a full body lift, brachioplasty, vertical thigh lift, breast lift/augment. My results were excellent with everything except my thighs (which were a real mess before), and even those are greatly improved. I had some complications, including a couple of open incisions on my lower body lift that took a few months to heal, and a terrible seroma on my left knee area that required a couple more surgeries and a wound vac before it would heal. So....now I am having some liposuction on my outer thighs because I have very pronounced saddle bags that I just hate, and because my right thigh is bigger than my left and pants…

Hello everyone!! I am currently about 18 months post op gastric sleeve. I've gone from 262 to 170, and am finally ready for plastics. I am scheduled for my first consult on April 8, and hope to have a 360 body lift and breast lift in stage 1. I'm trying to prepare myself, physically, the best that I can for this surgery and recovery. I've started working out twice per day (mostly cardio), and have tried to bump my protein intake and eat clean. I know this will help, but I'm wondering if anyone else did anything that they feel really helped with the success for their surgery and minimized complications during recovery? Please share, thanks!!

1. Did your insurance pay for plastic surgery after your weight loss? 2. What hoops did you have to jump through, if any to get your insurance to cover your plastic surgery? 3. What type of plastic surgery did your insurance cover? Any other information would be great. I need to find out if my insurance will cover and need to know the right questions to ask and how to word my questions. TIA.

Hi guys! I'm hoping to have a 360 body lift and breast lift this summer. I was wondering how much time to take off. I work as an RN in a clinic so I'm in with patients and also do a lot of desk work. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to pain. I was honestly thinking of taking 8 weeks to really heal and be comfortable before returning to work. Can you provide me any feedback about what the normal expectation is? Thanks!!!

I am only 11 weeks post op, but the sad truth is that it seems I can already tell I am going to need a breast lift. I am in my late 30s and have three kids, was morbidly obese for the last 14 years so you can imagine they weren't perky before. But now...sweet baby jesus, they just hang. There is no perk to them whatsoever. They are bodyless and lifeless. When they were still semi fat they at least had some shape. Now I kind of mush them up into something that resembles a ball when I cram them into my bra (which has decreased 2 cup sizes and 2 around the body sizes). Any advice you can give including thoughts on just a lift or a lift with implants, prices, Mexico, and an…

I am leaving monterrey today and the nurse who remembers me from 2 years ago was wowed by how invisible my scars are. Seriously stretch marks are more noticeable! The funny remark was that it helped a lot that I am "so white". yes I am the one that blinds people on the beach with my ridiculously pale complexion - glad to find an advantage! Ha Disadvantages - sunburns, skin cancer ( my mother had malignant melanoma ). And I like the sun and beach! I hope have not blinded or offended anyone today, but I was very worried about scars pre plastics and am grateful how well its turned out.

Hello everyone, Just curious how far before your goal did you start to consult with a plastic surgeon? I still have some time, but just wanted to plan ahead a bit. My insurance may cover a couple of the procedures such as the apron removal, but I need to know how much money I need to have to do what needs to be done. So I'd like to plan early so that I can start putting the resources together for when the day comes. I'd appreciate any help and feedback. I'm going to probably need an upper and lower body lift, arms, and thighs. Also are surgeons willing to maximize the amount of procedures they do at one time? Thank you all!

I wanted to post this for those of you going abroad for reconstructive surgery. I know all to well about needing the skin removed and wanting to feel normal again. But I am putting this out there, when you go abroad "as I did", you have no one here for post operative care. It is very important to at least line up a PS to go to afterwards. Trying to remove stitches and trying to wing it on your own...it is crazy. Then also remember the pain meds abroad are almost nonexistent! I was given tramadol for pain, it's like taking alieve for a Migraine...it just doesn't touch the pain. Then there are other actors like seromas that you are not aware of. This is when the body form…

I had brachioplasty and the 360 abdominalplasty with thigh and butt lift a month ago. I find that if I lay flat my stomach doesn't swell at the suture line. After sitting or walking for about 15 minutes, I feel like there is a bicycle tire inner tube filling under my skin. I cannot get into any of my pre surgery pants. I had been wearing a size 8 and post surgery I can only wear sweatpants. My arms are smaller and fit my shirts better but my lower abdomen is the issue. I hope this is just post op swelling that will resolve (probably because all the lymphatic channels were disrupted by the surgery) I was told the surgeon removed about 7 lbs total. When I weighed my…

Looking for some advise and/or encouragement from those who have had Brachioplasty. On December 29th I had brachioplasty and breast augmentation/lift and so far am not happy with either procedure, but that is another story. Since about day 3 I have been getting a sharp, stabbing pain in my left elbow. When I went to my post-op appointment last week, I mentioned it to the surgeon and he said pain is good because that means the nerves are reconnecting. After further conversation, he said if it continues and I am still getting the pain at my three month appointment, there are some further tests he can order to determine if there was nerve damage. I am still having the …

I'm scheduled for an abdominoplasy so with great advise here I went to real self to look at pics. Now I'm even more stressed because I scrolled through a bunch of pics and don't see anyone with a scar vertically down the center of their stomach. Is it atypical to have that scar in addition to the one horizontally? Seems so. Does anyone here know the answer?

Well, I hadn't been on here in sometime. I had band to sleeve revision 9 Feb 2015 and, didn't lose much. However, I decided to have plastics anyway. And, I must say, I have never been happier. I had surgery 3 Dec 2015. It was completely pain free. It was uncomfortable but without pain. So, I tell people that everyone is truly different. I also had really good drugs, too. Though I an still quite swollen, I'm so impressed with the outcome. I will update next week. Wishing you ask well. I couldn't figure out how to rotate pictures.

I am sorry, I can't seem to find the post or the person that asked...sigh. anyway, I had major plastics 2 years ago. The surgeon provided both an upper body and lower body garment that i used for 6 weeks. As I returned to intense exercise, I felt "insecure" - particularly around the mid section as I had a lower body lift. I wound up buying pretty intense "shaping" garment for the lower body that I used for several more months when horseback riding, skiing or doing intense exercise. I bought them off amazon, and the tag says Rago styles were 6269 and 6265. They are still in perfect shape - well made.

So I'm about 7 months post op on a tummy tuck & panni. My scar healed up really nicely, but today I noticed what's surgeon calls a "dog ear" on one side of the incision. Sorry not sure what the actual medical term is. I definitely am getting it fixed My questions... 1. If you experienced this, what exactly did your surgeon have to do to fix it? 2. Did your insurance cover something like that (my insurance deemed my TT medically necessary & covered all of it.) IF NO, about how much was the correction?

So, just curious about your experience with exercise post plastics. What did you have done? How long did it take you to get back with your exercise regimen? What was your experience with swelling after an exercise workout. If you had a tummy tuck, when did you start working your abs? Any other words of wisdom to bestow upon us post-plastics exercise enthusiasts? I had a lower body lift (which includes the TT), breast augmentation, and a spiral thigh lift. I started walking 6 weeks post-op, and working out with weights 8 weeks post-op. I had to lift very light, so I would not to place any strain on my abdominal muscles. At 12 weeks I started to work my way up to the hea…

I am just over one year out, with 12 pounds before I hit my goal weight. I am wanting to find out from others who have gone before me where thry went, or who they saw, for their plastics; what procedure was done; what SaskHealth covered for you; and what the process of referral, consultation, and coverage looked like. I really want a 360 body lift, as opposed to a simple panni...I cannot find information regarding coverage in our province. A colleague of mine has lost 200 pounds and maintained the loss, and finally saw a surgeon who apparently doesn't do the 360 lift. He has recommended, and had coverage granted for a tummy tuck, thigh lift, and arm lift for my coworker. …

Hi everyone! I am currently 14 months post op and down 134lbs. I am 10 pounds from my goal and beginning to think about getting some help for some big problem areas with loose skin. I live in Pewaukee, Wi, which is basically a western suburb of Milwaukee. I wanted to start looking for plastic surgeons in my area that specialize in massive weight loss. Honestly I a, having a hard time finding the best way to locate and more importantly review some of these doctors. There is a lot of work that I ultimately want to have done but for now my biggest, most embarrassing problem is my upper arms. I had very very large arms and I have lost a lot of weight in them but still h…
