I got my lapband on march 10 , so far I only lost 15 pounds  and to make matters worst my insurance told me that I had to reapply because it was only good for six months  . Now I can't get my first fill until much later , I am so depressed about that but I going to still try to do whats right but its hard :tt2:, wish me luck.

I'm sorry about your insurance telling you to reapply. That must suck! Maybe this is a miracle in disguise. Maybe this was meant to be for a reason. I was supposed to get my first fill 2 weeks ago, but my surgeons office cancelled on me with no reason. I had to reschedule after my docs vacation is over which will be in another week 04-11-09. That's 7 weeks! I was supposed to get my fill at 4 weeks. I am finally over it now, and think maybe this was meant to be for a reason. They say if you have a fill to fast that might not be good for us. So, I let it go. You will get over it too.

I wish you luck, I hope your surgeon and insurance respond quickly so you can get your fill.

Only 15 lbs? That's not bad at all - average weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week! They also say that BEFORE a fill you don't see significant weight loss because the band is still wide open. You should be proud of yourself. I'm seven weeks out and have only lost 25 lbs - should I be worried?

What do you mean by you have to reapply to your insurance? You have to reappy to get a fill? The fills aren't covered? That's crazy. I wonder if mine automatically covers fills.

I am confused to hear that any insurance company who approved the banding asks for a reapplication to get fills. What kind of nonsense is this? The fills are part of the whole procedure, what good is the band without fills? I would call your insurance company and ask to speak to a Case Manager regarding Bariatric intervention, good luck in this battle, my thoughts are with you- Lighterload

Hi there. I am brand new to this site. I was banded March 18th and to date I am still at 12 lbs since prior to surgery. I had hoped to lose quite a bit the first couple of weeks (due to liquid diet and such). I have to say I too am disappointed to have only lost 12 lbs in 3+ weeks.

My BIGGEST problem is that I weigh myself 2-3 times a day. It is ridiculous! I need to have my husband hide the scales, but it is like an addiction. I get so discouraged if I jump on and I haven't lost any - or worse!!! I gained a pound!

Zabrim, Since you were banded near the same time I was, do you feel completely healed and no pain? Or do you still have some pain?

Thats why I have to reapply , I just wish they would of told me in advance but I definitly wont let it get me down , thanks for your support.
