THIS IS MY FIRST ENTRY INTO MY BLOG. I AM A 36 YEAR OLD MALE FROM VIRGINIA. I AM 6'1" AND WEIGH 372 AS IT STANDS TODAY. I AM HOPING TO HAVE THE SURGERY IN MARCH; BUT I AM CONCERNED WITH THE STORIES OF PEOPLE HAVING COMPLICATIONS WITH INFECTIONS IN THE INCISION SITES. I AM DOING THIS FOR MY 5 MONTH OLD SON, MY WIFE AND OF COURSE MYSELF. ANY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ON THIS SUBJECT TO EASE MY MIND WOULD BE HELPFUL...

Hey there! Getting my band was the best thing I could of ever done. I'm 31 years old & wis I could of done it sooner! Your young & should do it now. We all go through the what if's but the chances of anything are sooo small. DO IT!!! You'll NEVER regret your band.

Jerry, Don't worry one second about the incisions getting infected... Mine healed so fast it almost freaked me out! I had the lapband surgery on Dec. 22 and have had a very good smooth recovery. Don't get me wrong, I was pretty sore the first 3 days after surgery, but the more you move around post-surgery the quicker you feel better. Its by far the best decision I have made in my life so far. I have lost about 23 lbs. in one month, and going strong. Good luck to you and don't forget, it doesn't happen over night.!

All the best, Lauren

It's easy to let the "bad" comments worry you. Everyone is different. I have a great Dr. I know I can call anytime! I am 8 days post op and feel great! I have lost 13 lbs. in 8 days (most fluid I'm sure) My incisions are almost gone! The only thing I had to worry with was the trapped gas from the surgery. Get Gas X strips and move around after surgery. I had mine on Wed. and was back to work on Monday. I would have came in sooner, but my Dr. doesn't let you drive for 3 days. Good Luck!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
