Surgery day january 13th,2009

:redface::thumbdown:hello everyone my surgery went very well,i arrive at the hospital at 4:30. had to be there at 6:30, me an my daughter, went to pre-admitting office got call back in the room got my iv put in, waited another30 minutes. took off everything.talk to the anathesiologist. he was explaining about the tube that goes down your throat. he says if it doesn,t go all the way down he might have to wake me up a little, to get it down,(yea right). i walk in the operating room looking at them making up the bed i had to lay on, i almost ran out of the room. i got on the bed they strap these massage pads on both legs that vibrates fell so good to keep your blood circulating.he put the oxygen mask on my face all the while making jokes,saying take deep breath, get all that good oxygen. i am thinking these people are not going to put me to sleep.next thing i knew i was waking up in recovery, moaning she ask did i need pain medication i moan yes,they call my daughter back for a few minutes to see me.hour later they took me to my room. i wasn,t in pain just a lot of discomfort, no chest pain.no port pain, i stayed overnight so did my daughter. i don,t know what it is about hospitals it not like home, could not wait to get home.i had round the clock care it felt so good to be taken care of.my dr had like 20 people on the staff all night that was in an iut of my room,7:00 that morning had to go for the dreded barium swallow, it,s just real bitter had to take three big gulp of that brown liquid, turn from side to side, then came the sweet thick syrup. same thing over again then 15 minutes later i was back in my room then the doctor camr by an told me the surgery went so smooth that i can go home what nice words we call a cab an an hour later we were home i went to bed the doctor said to start my ensure the following day my stomach is growling but i am not hungery my throat was sore for that day today isday four an i feel great took off my bandages yesterday with no problem layed in the bed most of yesterday i can climb the stairs ok if you have any questions leave me a message good luck everyone on your journey also:lol::thumbup:Sil..

good luck i had mine the 14th of january and i'm having shoulder pain everything else seem o.k.
