I feel your pain, I miss Diet Coke really bad. But, my doctor said carbonation actually increases inside your body, due to heat, and that it stretches out the small upper pouch. So, he said no sodas again, ever.

They do make sugar free popsicles in diet soda flavors. I tried them and was not thrilled, but that might help. Hang in there.

My Dr. says the carbonation is bad as well. He said on RARE occasions - if I feel I HAVE to have a DIET soda, I have to pour it over ice, let it sit for at least 5 minutes - then stir it till all the bubbles are gone. It is so not worth it :-) I was worried about missing them at first - but after a while - the craving for them goes away.

I like jbflorida's response. It really highlights that the focus is in the wrong place.

The focus should be on health and eating quality foods for the rest of your life .. not craving or trying to get around the band to make sure you 'don't miss out'

let's face it ..if we'd been missing out .. we wouldn't need the band

new you?

I need to stop drinking pop. I was banded on July 3rd and have been back on pop since last month sometime. I am ashamed. It is pure weakness. I know what ALL the right things to do are, but I choose not to them. I am inspired by all of your posts and I am starting anew. Thank you.

I had to slowly go off of them. But I would only buy bottled soda, shake it like crazy, and let all the fuzz out. Now I am addicted to Iced tea, Caffeine free, of course.
