aclubb LAP-BAND Patients July 2, 200818 yr Author stats Ok, so I know that any alcohol is really just empty calories. But, how long should I wait after surgery to drink? My nutritionist recommended straight vodka on ice - funny, huh? I have some friends' birthdays coming up and would love to attend happy hour and have a drink!
ajoneen LAP-BAND Patients July 2, 200818 yr Author stats I resisted temptation and didn't open a bottle. As to your question I had a glass of wine two days after banding and have had quite a few cocktails since. It's just a matter of figuring the calories into your daily plan. Straight booze is the least calories. When you add the mixers or sweet liqueurs you add on the cals. Nothing wrong with a good vodka.
aclubb LAP-BAND Patients July 8, 200818 yr Author stats Since we're on the topic of vodka - Tito's Handmade Vodka is awesome. I tried it a few days before my liquid diet and it was smooth enough to drink over ice with a little lemon or lime.
