4/11/08 - The fill is working!

Okay, I am sure the fill is working and I don't think I will be going back.

I noticed last night when I was eating my dinner, it sure didn't take much to fill me up. Then, this morning was our office breakfast and it was my turn to pick it up. So, we all decided Steak & Shake, so I ordered me the cheese scrambler with wheat toast.

Okay, I take one bite of the eggs, and decided I would eat 1/2 slice of the wheat toast. Well, I've always been able to eat breat in the past, and plus this was toated, so no biggie right? Well..........wrong - it was long and I was running to the bathroom PBing. Wow, I actually PB'D! I'm excited that I have enough restriction now that I actually PB'd! After 15 1/2 months, I've got real restriction! Thank you thank you thank you!

I'm on cloud 9! No more bread for me! I finally have found a food that I cannot eat! Yay!

Menu today

Bfast - eggs/part of bread (whatever I didn't PB up)

Lunch

Protein shake (my stomach hurts a bit from yacking so much, I think I will keep it simple)

Dinner - we're going out tonight, so not sure, but it will be healthy

Exercise - LBWO - I didn't make it to the gym last night to do the lower Body workout, so I will do it today.

Wt - still have not weighed, but will on Monday! TOM is around the corner, so the scales might not be nice to me on Monday, but I will still weigh on Monday.

LAP-BAND Patients

Hello. I was banded 3/22/08 and have just started the mushies. I am constantly hungary, nothing seems to fill me up. I have been taking in plenty of protein and fluids. I am going to see my doc on Monday, do they usually give a fill this soon after the surgery?? Thanks! I've gone from 201 to 188. Didn't lose one pound this week at all? is this normal?? Thanks for any advice.

It is normal not to lose any weight during the period you are in, it is normal to even gain. This is the healing stage and doctors are not concerned with you gaining or losing, they want to be sure you heal.

Normally they do not do a fill until 4 to 6 weeks out, so I'm not sure if your doc will do a fill, more than likely he will schedule one for you.

Being hungry right now is also normal, this is what they call Bandster Hell, where your starving, and no fill. Hang in there, it will get better.

I was tighten on 04/04. Is it normal to still have the munchies?

it is normal to have "head hunger", and it is also normal for the 1st fill not to work, or for it work for a short amount of time.

When you say munchies, are you truly experiencing Hunger? Or is it just the cravings? The head hunger will not go away, its something you will always have to battle - at least for me it is. True hunger is what we are trying to take away, and with the right fill, you should eat your protein and be satisfied for a minimum of 3 hours.

I think it is stress munchies and most of it is in my head. I am sitting at a desk and everyone munching around me. I also need to work harder at not drinking to soon after eating.

I had my lap band March 3rd and waiting for a fill on Thursday. I feel that I eat just as much as before but I do chew, chew, chew. I don't drink with eating. I have lost about 10 pounds but afraid I will be gaining it back before I get a "good fill". Hopefully Thursday, my first fill will be a good fill!

I had my first fill on 04/04, it has helped alot. I still get the munchies at home at night. Hopefully I will be able to break that habit.
