POD 14 - ready to return to work

bal

drum roll please........... 2 weeks, 28 lbs lost (including 5 lbs week before surgery). SW 277, CW 259, GW 155. I feel great. No dietary issues. Not hungry. Full after 2 oz of salmon for dinner. This couldn't have been easier! I know that the weight loss is going to slow down too as I increase calories (currently 500-600 cal day), but I"m enjoying the quick weight loss while it happens!

Today I spent a couple of hours going through my store of work pants - I have pants varying in size from 22 to 12. I am able to fit into a couple of pairs of the 20s - which is amazing! I figure a couple of more weeks and all of the 20s will fit.

In the past when I have dieted I have saved the pants that no longer fit - just in case I needed them again. But I am committed this time to take the clothes that don't fit to the salvation army right away - because I am never going to fit into them again!

I also joined the YMCA yesterday. I know that in the past I've convinced myself that the amount of exercise I get at work is sufficient (I'm on my feet a lot). But I've promised myself to be honest about everything - how much I eat, the amount of sweets I eat, and the amount of exercise I get. An I have promised myself to exercise at least 3 x a week at the Y.

Journey is off to a good start. I know there will be bumps along the way, like any journey. But the journey has begun!

Great job!!!. Your post is such an encouragement for me. My surgery is April 27 2016. Did you have any gas pain if so how did you cope or get rid of the pain? How long did the gas pains last ? Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I walked every hour or so while in the hospital, and used Gas-x strips (the ones that dissolve in your mouth). Honestly I didn't have many gas pains, and what I did have only lasted a couple of days. I would STRONGLY recommend you walk as much has you can. You will do great!
