So this is my first blog here, or anywhere, actually. I am six days post op, just starting my "full liquid" week, and tolerating it pretty well.

I have been heavy all my life, one time I actually lost 100 pounds on my own, and I felt like a movie star! I was light as a feather, and full of life!

Of course, gained it all back again within 10 years. I can't believe it had to come to this, but here I am. Today I am feeling pretty sorry for myself. Did any of you guys feel like that post surgery? It seems impossible to get all the water and protein in that is required. Would love any feedback.

It gets easier! Try not to focus on protein and focus on staying hydrated. As long as you are getting some protein then you are doing fine. I struggled with it too. We all do. Your stomach is so swollen and is not functioning like normal because you just cut most of it out! It will start healing and getting the fluids and protein in will be easy and then before you know it you will feel like you never had surgery. I am a little over 2 months out and I feel like a whole new person! I feel great! I eat normal foods and get my protein and water in effortlessly albeit my serving size is drastically smaller. Just keep some liquids on hand and drink all day. Protein when you can and stay positve. Remember you just had major surgery and need to heal. Good luck and hang in there!

I am 21 days post op and it's still difficult to get in all the water and protein I need. I know I can, I just don't want to. lol But I do my best.

I am 7 days post-op. I was so worried about getting in all my liquids and protein that i over did it by drinking too much and too fast and had quite a set back! So, don't worry as much and do what you can. I talked to a woman who said it took her a month to be able to get a full protein shake down in one day!
