Stage 2 diet, What do you order at a Restaurant?

Zeus Iris Dox

So, I am just wondering. I am currently on the stage 2 diet and I have to go on a trip. I am trying to figure out what I can eat when we go out to eat... besides; mashed potatoes and eggs. Please help!! I am only 2 weeks post op on this Friday. I feel good and have lost 30 lbs in 30 days... so I get full fast, just needing some suggestions :o) Thanks for you help!!

Well it depends on the restaurant. I don't go anywhere without looking at nutritional information online first. At Texas Roadhouse they have an oven roasted chicken and I get a side of unsweetened applesauce. I really can only eat the leg and a few bites of apple sauce so I bring it home. I also had their portabello mushroom chicken (very tender) but it comes in 8 oz so the calories/fat went down greatly with the portion you can actually eat. At Red Lobster I had the stuffed flounder with green beans but only ate about 1/2 of the fish it was so filling.

So that's all I've had going out. I have done zero fast food aside from 1/2 of a small chili from Wendy's.

Not sure it's very helpful, sorry.

At week 2, I was only eating Cream of Mushroom soup. And only about 3/4 of a can a day. I just kept a supply in my desk drawer at work and ate it cold.

So you might look at the soup list when you go out to eat. See if there's something you can mash up like potato soup - so it's creamy with no lumps.

My dietician said that this diet is more to let my stomach heal; so no chunks. The unsweetened applesauce would work but I am not supposed to eat meat for another 18 days. But that will help for the stage 3 diet. Thank you!!

refried beans with cheese are a good bet, soups... that might be about it right now. I'm a vegetarian but I thin some people do flaky fish and chew well. will you have a little fridge and microwave in your hotel room? I might rely on that and eat yogurt etc. I didn't eat out for at least the first 2 months.

I am a very picky eater any way... I don't like anything that ever lived under water, or yogurt. I have a very big problem with textures. I am trying to get over this! I really am very picky about eggs also, but have been getting over that. I will try to get some yogurt to try (my son likes it so if I don't it won't go to waste). I think the soup think will work for me, as long as the restaurants have soup in the middle of summer its like 110 degrees here. lol I don't plan on staying in a hotel; I think we will be staying with family so it is just the drive there and back. If nothing else I can order a glass of milk and take in my carnation instant breakfast in. Thanks for all your help!
