3 Weeks And 4 Days Of Liquid Diet! Uggghhhh

So my surgeon wants me to lose "over 20 lbs" so i was put on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and 4 days. ive lost 12 so far in week one. I am drinking meal replacement shakes for every meal and nothing else except water. Week one was good. I wasnt too hungry and just tried to stay focused. Now in week 2, i find myself more hungry at dinner time so i am making a small salad with little dressing with tomatoes and no cheese or meat or croutons in the evening instead of the shake. I figured that i can still hit my 24 lb goal like this but i have to stay focused. At least the salad will give me something to look forward to. And of course the night before surgery, i wont have anything. I do have a couple events this weekend including a dinner party and a lunch for my daughter at Goofys kitchen at the disneyland resort but my plan is to stick to salads and get use to not always looking forward to eating but to enjoy the party.

 

I can do this.

AMEN sistah. i just started my liquid diet as well. but i have to do it for 6 weeks!!!!! protein shake in the am then a small fruit then if i choose i can eat a small healthy choice meal and then another protein shake if i choose and then another small fruit or veggie and then at dinner i can have another small healthy choice meal and another shake. unlimited water. it's hard and i am really trying. i am down 12lbs so far! good luck

I'm on day 3 of a 12 week VLCD (under 800 calories per day) I can have 3 shakes, four if I need it. I can sub one shake for four ounces of plain fish and a salad with dark greens and low carb veggies and no dressing. I think I'm going to stick with just the shakes for the first month and then start doing the fish week 5... that will give me something to look forward to. Anyway. I need to lose 40 pounds by surgery but I'm hoping it's 50! We can DO THIS!

      I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
