2Nd Day Post-Op, (Gas Pain & Nothing Goes Down) Help Please Any Tips

Hi everyone,

 

As u know it's my 2nd day post-op (surgery was 7/6/12) IM having a lot of difficulty w/ gas pain :( along with i feelling like everything i drink lingers in my throat:(

 

What can i do? :wacko:

walk or rocking chair for the gas pain and as far as the swallowing goes it could just be sweeling which should go down in a week or two. You could be taking too large of swallows.

Walking was the best medicine for me. It did wonders but there was a post on one of the strings that I think will help you. She recommended using heating pads for the back and stomach along with a shiatsu messager to help move out the gas.

Personally walking and standing versus laying did wonders for me.

Thanx four the tip guys, (Tina) I had my GVS done @ RWJH and my nurse sucked, Maybe thats Y she didnt check, but my surgeon requested X-rays to see the fluid go down.The next day a visiting nurse came to see me and I have been improving since. Walking did help and tomorrow I see my Doc/ and begin phase two cannot wait :) wanna try something other then liquids...
