3Rd Week Post-Op

Third week post-op today, did not lose any weight since last week, but everyone says I look smaller. Can't believe I did not lose weight with the amount I am eating. Still very tired everyday and finding it hard to get back into normal daily activities. I had blood work today and the results were all normal. I'm just healing slowly and have to learn patience. I'll be off work another couple of weeks and hopefully that time will make all the difference. Getting all my fluids in has been a challenge, but one I am making a conscious effort to get down. This has been a long three weeks, hopefully the next is better.

Hang in there. You sound exactly the way that I was at about the same time post-op. I too had a stall in weight loss but believe me it will get better. I had several moments when I thought I had made a mistake by getting sleeved. The fluids were hard to get down but take it from me, make sure you do because I managed to get myself dehydrated. It will all get better and before you know it you will feel better. Try to get out and start walking. That may help give you energy. Good luck!

Lizzy,

I had my surgery on 5/21 and I am 3 weeks out also. I too have limited energy. I am a non stop type and this is very strange for me. I keep thinking there is somthing wrong but I have to remember I have just put my body through alot and it is adjusting. Seems to come and go also.

I have lost a total of 15 lbs since surgery but none in the last 8 days. Infact I gained a pound since yesterday. That has been frustrating but I think its normal.

I am still happy that I did this because I know in the long run I will lose and keep it off. Although I do have those old doubts of failure. Change takes time for sure.

I went back to work after 2 weeks and was prtty exhausted but not as bad as I thought. Take your time off and rest and heal.

Onward and Forward!

I had surgery on the 21st as well and am still creeping along - hoping energy comes back soon. I too think I am a pretty slow healer, I go in for my 3 week check up today so it will be nice to see how how I am doing and have my diet advanced and find out when I can take a swim in the tub :)

I am down just shy of 20 lbs since surgery so far.

Good luck guys - from what I hear this gets easier as time passes :)

I had surgery on the 24th of May and just like you have been the same weight for a week solid now. But my pants are fitting better. I am drinking more water and i am able to do two meals a day now ( about 3oz of soup ). I found that the more I do, the better I feel. I do get tired but i recover sooner and faster. I take less naps and if I have to rest, it is for a shorter amount of time. So I have been doing more every day.

Last night I returned my scale to Walmart!! I seriously can not keep stepping on that scale anymore lol!! my mood and disposition will just die very time the same number showed up! also today, I bought some unflavored protein so I can had to my soup because I knew I was not consuming enough protein. Finally I joined the GYM!! I am trying my best to win this:)

It helps to read your replies and not feel so alone. Thank you so much for your support! I know in the long run this will all be worth it. I will make an effort to be more active too, maybe that is the key. I have always been on the go, so this slow trail is driving me crazy. Thanks again for your encouragement, it makes a difference.
