Nervous But Very Excited Buy My Up Coming Surgery

Dixie's Skinny Wannabe

Hi Y'all, My name is Cat and I weigh a ton, well, not a ton but enough as to where I feel I do and it's time to do something about it. My last Dr visit was a wake up call, I had talked with my Dr before about the surgery and he wasn't for it, but that Dr left and I started seeing his partner. I told him money was tight now and he asked how I could not afford something to save my life. After all, I pay out the rear for my prescriptions. So I talked it over with DH and he did some looking on line that afternoon, came home and we made a choice my life is worth this surgery. So DH and I have gone to one seminar about weight lose surgery, listened to the nicest Dr talk about all the options, we have two more to go to before I decide where I want to go to have it done, we have decided the sleeve is what I want done right now. I know if I can get most this weight off I can start walking again without the back spasms and my knees killing me. I know I am facing total knee replacements in the coming years and I really want to be healthy enough for that recovery. Are their any of you who wish they had not had the sleeve?

Hello Cat,

I am 17 days post-op, and I do not regret it. The benefits are tremendous, and the goal is worth the journey.

You will eat very little, you will not fell hungry, you will not hallucinate about food, you will be ligher.

The best time to do it, is when you are all clear from any medical condition/complications like diabetes, heart condition, pulmonary condition,...

Do it while you are fit, do not wait until you become impaired with other medical conditions to do it.

Good luck

Thank you both for responding, I am very excited and so looking forward to feeling normal again. I am tried of the looks I get when we go out and not being able to walk any distance. I am excited about getting my life back. I am more excited about doing things for myself, I don't want to become a burden to my husband.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
