I'm New...waiting On Pre Op Date

Hello everyone, well I'm new here! I'm a So Cal Kaiser member. Done with my Options classes which have been very informative. Saw the therapist last week (mandatory) labs have been done. Waiting to see the surgeon hopefully by next week then I will get my surgery date at that time to get sleeved. Words can not explain the excitemnet I feel for a new start and new direction in life. I'm 5'6 1/2 305lbs I have been a plus size woman my entire adult life. I'm done with the up and down diets done and tried them ALL. I'm 37 with an 18yr old son, I'm ready to enjoy life travel more & just see what the future holds. This website has been a great source of information and looks to give alot of support. While the program with Kaiser has been great, 3mths of classes and a wonderful staff I feel that acutally connecting with those who have been thru it puts it all into perspective. So anyway I should be getting sleeved sometime in February 2012...nervous but can't wait!!!

Thanks Wantobeskinny!! Plyman that's awesome be sure to let us know how it goes. Newgrandmother11 there isn't a certain diet Kaiser has you on while going thru the classes. They do teach you what to eat what to watch for as far as protein and sugars, they educate you on the do's and don't after surgery. They suggest you cut out the soda and fast food and recommend you lose 10% of your weight. My friend had the surgery in Nov thru kaiser they gave her something to drink the day before surgery to clean out your system. I'm at the Kaiser in Fontana. Once you go thru the classes as of your last class they give you up to 12 months to have the surgery scheduled maybe that can give you time to possibly come up with your 10%part plus the 3 mths of classes....hopefully

I finished Options Dec 13th and have my final visit with the bariatric doctor this Thursday. Hopefully I'll be getting that call from the surgeon sometime early this year as well. I am also excited and nervous, but I feel good about this decision. I loved the Options program and all the material I got and everyone I met...what a great program.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
    • Congratulations! What a great journey! Thank you so much for sharing. You are inspiring!

      Einarmige Banditen
