A little about myself.. I am 4 days post op and so far the only issue really that I am having is the gas. Lol. But I am hoping that in the next few days that will subside.

Now I have never been a big girl in fact all my life I was an athlete. I was a gymnast for years and I played volleyball, basketball, softball, and I did martial arts in high school. When I went to college I was on the crew team. So you can see I have always been active. Well unfortunately since 2001 I have also had 4 knee surgeries making it very difficult to do any exercise and my last two surgeries were 2009-2010. Even now most people didn’t believe me when I told them I was 270 because I have a lot of muscle and I’m very proportionate. However, I could tell. And to make matters worse I also have a herniated disc and 2 bulging discs in my low back. (I’m kind of a walking medical case) lol.

Anyways. So I decided to get the surgery done. So far I am able to get most of my fluids in but in the morning I am still nauseous and normally my gas levels go up after I eat which causes a little more discomfort than I would like. I am hoping now that I am on to full liquids that some of that discomfort will subside. I am trying to walk every few hours for at least 10-15 min, but it still really hurts to move too much. I have already noticed that since I am not moving I have lost a little muscle mass. And the one thing I was really worried about was having the saggy skin issue. I’m not trying to be vain but I really don’t want the loose skin. So I’m trying to figure out when is the earliest that I can start working out. I want to give my body ample time to heal before I really start pushing myself, but I know that it’s the first month when you really lose a lot of weight.

I will keep you posted on my journey and keep updating my stats as I go by.. I will try and keep them about a month apart so I give myself time to really see a difference.

I am 2 weeks post op and my doctor told me Thursday that I can pretty much do any exercise except situps and heavy lifting. I am still having a problem getting the fluids down that is needed. He said I must drink 64oz. per day. I do good to get 20 oz. a day so I stay dehydrated.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
