Exercise We All Dread It

As I flung on my gym clothes dreading the 45 min workout today. I remembered why I need to go daily and workout. I am one who weights herself daily. As I stepped on the scale and looked down I see I'm down another 2 pounds. With a smile on my face I get in my car and go merrily to the gym.

It's so important to do our daily workouts. Even though we dread it, it does soooo much for our weight loss. Taking 30 to 45 mins a day out of our hectic schedules does wonders for the scale tipping down. Here are some great ideas for shedding those unwanted pounds.

Swimming - doing laps for 30 mins burns over 400 calories.

Walking - walking for 30 mins burns over 350 calories

Bicycling - for 30 mins nonstop burns over 300 calories

Actually, for me, I've found that I enjoy my workouts. I'm shocked actually! But I remember how I started and how far I've come. It's like a little competition with myself and I try to do more or better each time I go.

For me, right now the main exercise I do is the exercise bike. I go for about 35 min now on level 4-9. Then I do some resistant weights. I would love to do more, but I have a really bad knee. So the bike is the only cardio I can do.

I've grown to love exercise and it's almost second nature to me. I do it daily because it is good for my lungs, heart and body. Recent studies have shown that exercise is one of the best things we can do for longevity. I also change my routine often, step aerobics, spin, zumba, stair-master, threadmill work, walking with my hubby or find a hill around the house to walk up and down for 30 minutes. In addition, I lift weights to keep the flab at bay and help with my strength conditioning. I was lifting weights yesterday up at the gym and warmed up with 145lbs on the bench then moved up to 195. The old grandma at 45 still amaze the young guys who are pushing 145, I just have fun with it, after the workout I told my hubby I can't wait for my surgery because I am going to be a "beast".

p.s. I too have bad knees so I stick with low impact exercises.
