Post-op Pain

Made it through the surgery, Finally on 9/12. It was a long 3 months of check off lists to get through. I have seen fabulous results with others and was so very excited. Surgery was great, I stayed positive right up until the versed took affect, When I awoke in recovery, I could feel something inside was different. The first 48 hrs was horrible...The pain from the gas was horrendous. I walked all night in my hospital room.I kept saying to myself what have you done? Well I am just about to go into pod 4 and I am feeling much better.Lots of rest and sleep helps and walking... I had heard about the gas pains but never imagined them to be that painful. The only way I could pass the gas was to vomit from the nausea. The usual drugs werent working for the nausea, so the doc gave me a scopalamine patch that you wear for motion sickness on the ships. Worked like a charm. Has anyone else experienced that much pain Post-op?

Hello there....I was "sleeved" on 9/08. I didn't experience the gas pains that you talk about (thank God) however, I did have lots of nausea. I had nothing in my stomach so when I would try to vomit, nothing came out so it was painful because of the incisions. I too got the scopalamine patch and it seemed to do the trick.

I'm home now and trying to rest and recover. I've lost 10.3lbs according to the scale...woo hoo!!! I'm focusing on trying to get my protein in. A difficult task for me cuz

most all the shakes I've tried are gross!! No real hunger yet but my mind is playing tricks on me and when my family is eating I still seem to crave food!! I'm hoping that

subsides.

Today is exactly one week post op. I'm planning to go for a nice walk this am. Looking forward to getting out and getting some fresh air

Good luck with your journey! Doesn't it feel great to have it behind you now??

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
