Needing somewhere to be free

As of recent I have been taking a lot of reality life problems. Its sad because before surgery I would cope different and now I am having to face the music. You know what I mean. I can't run to my fridge and I can't rely on friends like I use to. I am having to be alone in things and I feel horrible. I can't talk to anyone about what I am going through and have never felt so alone about too many things at once. I mean, I have personally gone thru hell and back. But I dealt with those issues differently. I think I might need more, perhaps therapy haha. I'd hate to do that all over again.

My husband will be doing things for work so I won't see him for a very long time. My sister is super sick. She might have Leukemia. Plus I have my own problems with raising my child without any family involment. If I haven't felt alone, I am feeling it now. And the worse part is no one has bother to see how I have been. I feel forgotten. I will return to this later, I am starting to get sleepy....

You are not alone. God is always with you and the earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal. Think about the worst thing that you were facing last year this time and then think about how you made it through. Know that whatever you are facing shall pass as well.

It sounds like you are down in the dumps and I hope you share this with your family doctor. Sometimes you need a bit of help in the form of medication or talking it out. I struggled for quite a while (mother had to move in with me as her dementia was getting quite bad) before my doctor suggested I try a low-dose anti-depressant (sertralene). It allowed me to sleep better at night and cope with coming home and finding she had peeled a sack of potatoes, cut them in perfect cubes and put them in the dishwasher to cook. She also had a thing about green dish soap and thought it would be great to cook peas in.

So start thinking everyday about something you CAN be thankful for and try to keep moving forward one step at a time. You can do this and this website has lots of wonderful people to encourage you and provide similar stories.

Bless you.

Am sorry to hear that you are feeling so low. I have to concur with the other gals that have posted, maybe you need to consider an antidepressant to help you feel better. Also know that you have friends here on this board. I have put you on my prayer list, and will be praying for you everyday. I too have suffered depression in the past, when I felt abandoned, and felt that no one cared about me, felt that I had been forgotten by everyone that I cared about. It took me a while to get past my feelings of abandonment, but the antidepressants helped a lot. Don't go through this alone! There are tons of people out there who care and want to help! Seek them out. Do you have a church, can you talk with your pastor? Call your local Mental Health institute. What about Employee Assistance Programs through work? All of these places care and want to help, you just need to reach out. Please investigate some of them and let them help you! And please keep posting so we know how you are doing! I am sending you Love and Hugs and Prayers tonight! KathyD49

Manda,

Some times we have a lot of things piling up on us all at once and it feels so overwhelming that you dont think that you can ever find your way out. I know this feeling and i have had to cope with it in the past. I did go to a psychiatrist for some prescription meds to help me get balanced again. sometimes your chemicals can get a little out of wack, and it doesnt mean there is anything mentally wrong with you, but a surgery like the one that we have been through can change our chemicals around so much that it can make a big difference in the way that we think and deal with our emotions. i work in a mental hospital and have to give out these kinds of medications all the time and i see the wonderful things that they can do for people in need.

know that you are not alone and sometimes you just need to speak up and let your family know what is going on. you will be surprized how much they will support you. even if you dont tell them, they probably are sencing something is wrong. there are tons of people on here that are willing to talk with you all the time, and if you really need someone to talk to we are here.

i would be personally willing to talk with you one to one if you need someone just to listen to you. i am a psychiatric technician and have given therapy to many people and sometimes it helps just to have someone listen to you who doesnt have a personal attachment to your life so that they may be without bias. i hope that you take the help that so many people are willing to give you. you are loved and cared about. ---sassy
