Course Subject - Vitamins 101 or How to Swallow Horse Pills

Ok - so we gotta take vitamins after the sleeve and probably before wouldn't hurt. I can't swallow those big honkin vitamins! Do they make gummy bear vitamins for adults - not the multi-vitamin - I see those at Costco. What about the Sublingual B-12, the Iron and Calcium.

I wonder what a chewable Iron would taste like...spray starch perhaps. OK really, anybody who is taking these vitamins and they've found something very small - which I might be able to swallow OR if you've found gummy vitamins - please let me know the 411.

My last resort would be to learn how to get these things down without choking. People say throw your head back but that just makes the vitamin go to the front of my mouth. Choke - cough - gag... and sometimes worse.

Also - my grandbabies have gummy calcium but I would need to eat 9 a day and they are LOADED with sugar.

Well, I can't help you with the Iron or the Calcium, but as far as gummy vitamins for adults, those I have. I can't remember if I got them at Target or WalMart, but am pretty sure it was one of the two. They are made by Vitafusion and are called MultiVites. They say that they have 200% of Vitamin D and that they are gummy vitamins for adults. According to the nutrition information a daily serving is 2 gummies a day. Since my doctor told me to take a multivitamin in the morning and in the evening, I take two each morning and two each evening. Hope that helps some! As far as chewable Iron, try googling it. I know I have seen chewable Iron on some of the web sites I have been onlooking at different protein supplements, and such. Don't know about Calcium, I think Caltrate is chewable. Hope this helps.

I ordered most of my vitamins from www.bariatricadvantage.com. All are chewable except for the B12, which is sublingual. I also found chewable vitamins at Kroger and Walmart. My dr. recommends an acid blocker for the first 90 days and I even found a chewable Equate brand acid blocker at Walmart tonight. The gummy vitamins mentioned above are also available at Walmart. Bariatric Advantage has a great carmel flavored calcium soft chew, tho the vanilla flavored one at Kroger is good too. Just as an added suppliment, check out ZERO vitamin water at your local grocery store. It comes in many flavors and it's pretty good too.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
