The new me???

This morning I'll be flying to WA State for a couple of days. It wasn't planned, so just yesterday I called a couple friends to let them know I'd be in town. Due to this trip not being about pleasure I wasn't even thinking about my weight loss until my best friend asked, "so are you an anorexic, skinny chick now? Will I even recognize you? are you a completely different person?" It was said in good humor, but it kind of took me by surprise. I still think overall I am the same person...just a little different. I'll post more when I get back about the reactions I get. I really hope it's all okay because I don't think I can handle any more drama.

It is quite interesting. I look in the mirror now and try to picture myself thinner...after a year post op, and I wonder if I will look at it then and wonder what I looked like fat. I hope all goes well for you on this trip DeeDee. You look great now, do not let anyone tell you different =) Hugs if ya need them!

DeeDee, I hope you have a drana free visit as well. Unfortunately sometimes our friends aren't quite as happy about our weight loss as we are. Lets hope your friends are encouraging. Have a safe a good trip!

I will be seeing my mom and sister next month and have not told them beyond that I have been on a diet, so will see if I tell them after the reaction. My sister is heavy and struggled all her life and now has diabetes and I wish she would have this surgery but of course it is a big decision and I wouldn't want to encourage it and then maybe not be right for her.

Hope your visit is a positive one for you with no drama concerning your new healthy body.

I'm so glad to hear it was a drama free time. It's difficult sometimes for me to hear comments from people even though I want to believe they have the best intentions. . .
