Starting the two weeks prior to Surgery

Well I have started the count down process after meeting with the Nutritionist the following things have happened. She told me to go to the gym every day whether I worked out or not just to get in the habit. Of course you can't go to the gym and not work out, so my muscles are screaming at me, but I do feel like I am giving it my all. The other thing that I am doing is putting a watch on the other side of my plate for dinner and she told me to look at what I had on the plate and estimate how to eat it in a half hour. You would think that is easy but try it. That has been incredible, where I used to eat very fast and get more. I find it hard to finish what I have and I have not had surgery yet. That is so cool..... We also went shopping for the protein powders to mix and I found one that is really great ... zero carb, Zero Fat, 24G of protein per scoop. Chocolate truffle and more. I am trying to sip it and take the half hour to down it as well just to stay honest with the process that I was given. So far it is not been hard just sore from working out. I will keep you posted on the process.:001_tt2:

This is awesome to hear and to see someone else getting the mental and physical preparation in swing. I am also working on pre-op habits and am going to buy get some protein samples this week. Can I ask you the name of the protein mix you found?? I would like to see if they have it here in Norway. I have tried to eat in 30 mins and found it easier than I thought. It is hard, however, to see the family up and leave the table before me hehe. I have been sick with the stomach flu this past weekend and realized as I was sipping broth, and slowly nursing a queezy stomach, that it may be exactly how I feel the first week after surgery...interesting =)

You are doing great with your prep work. I think I had the learning curve beat because I had the band first. It was a horrible experience, but it taught me a lot that helped me with the sleeve. Getting to the gym is the one thing I wish I would of done before. I've been out of the gym for about 3 weeks, and am hoping I get back into the swing of things once I'm released after having my GB removed this last Thursday. Great job on the protein find. Keep it up, and success will surely be yours ! ! !
