Emotional Break down:

Last night hubby and I went shopping to finish up the last minute things we needed to pick up for Christmas gifts.

We were in the womens clothing section of the store, and I heard hubby say "Hey, this looks like something you would wear". I came around the corner to see this beautiful bright yellow sweater hanging up. Probably a size Medium. I just looked up at it and burst out crying! I think I scared my hubby a little. Just the thought of being able to go into a store and pick something you LIKE off a rack and be able to fit in it was overwhelming.

For many years I go into a store and go to the "fat ladies" section and hope they have something that isn't to horrible that will fit me. I know some of you ladies have been there.

I can't wait until the day I can pick something I truly like off a rack and wear it.

Barb, you'll get there, and I'll attest to the fact that it is a wonderful to steer clear of the "fat girl" section of the stores.

You should go back and buy that sweater as goal sweater. I had a pair of jeans in my closet, a size 18 (not 18W) Levi's. They were my goal jeans, and one day when I thought I could squeeze into them, I pulled them out of the closet to find they were TOO BIG. Those jeans, and my entire old wardrobe is in 6/39gallon lawn and leaf bags waiting for spring to get here so I can sell them for new clothes ! ! !

You'll get there, and you will feel fabulous.

I can't wait for you to get to that day. You'll be there before you know it. I agree with Tiff, you should buy that as a goal sweater. I love goal clothing with the sleeve, because unlike my "diet" attempts, I actually have gotten into all of them and you will too.

Thanks for your support Tiff and DeeDee...you guys both rock! I think I may just buy a "goal sweater" and hang it where I can see it. That might help me keep my eye on the prize.

AMEN!! I love to shop for everyone else, but whenever I go to DressBarn for women -- I would love to go over to the skinny people side!! I think we've all been there! I am new to this site as of tonite! So when is your surgery date? Mine is December 30th--sounds like we'll be going through this together!!

Hi Jpetty! Welcome to VST. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 19th, so you will be just a few weeks ahead of me. We will be going through this together. Welcome again, and looking forward to getting to know you.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
