Fill Questions

I go for my first fill on 11/10. I know they say it can take up to many fills before you get to your sweet spot and have that full feeling and that everyone is diffrent but how often can you get filled?? Do they make you wait a certain time frame and then if you want to be filled again you go back?

congrats to you on moving forward. I had my first fill 30 days later then went for monthly check-ups; 4 was all it took for me (that was last March). This week will be my one year mark and I am close to the 66% excesse weight loss. I went to the doctors today day and had another fill. Please check out my blog - I will be posting many items I've learned over the past year.

Here's my info:

Surgery Date: July 26, 2011 (received a small fill)

1st fill - 4 weeks later - no restriction

2nd fill - 3 weeks later - no restriction

3rd fill - 2 weeks later - still no restriction (I think I'm at 5 cc's)

Next Fill 10/26 (4 weeks later) - feeling a bit restricted. Think I may be close to the green zone :)

As you can see, I went 4 weeks, 3 weeks, 2 weeks and 4 weeks. I go back in 6 weeks next time and hopefully I will be in the green zone!

I'm sure all doctors are different though :)

It really depends on you and your doctor. Mine had me go in every four weeks beginning a month post op (to make sure the swelling was down). We thought I was at my sweet spot back in May and I hadn't had a fill in months but time proved I wasn't quite there yet I received a fill last week that proved to be too much so they just took a little out. I now have 7.25cc's and I will probably hold here for a while. Even still my doctor wants me to follow up in 4 to 6 weeks to be sure I'm still on track.

I had my first fill one month after my surgery, and then I was able to get them every 2 weeks. To date I have had 4 fills. I have a 14cc band, and 4 cc's were put in it at the time of surgery. The first 3 fills I was able to get 1 cc and once I reached 7, I could only get .5 cc's every time. My last fill was yesterday, and I think I am feeling that restriction. woo hoo.

The bl, as your dr how often you can get a fill. GOOD LUCK.

Depends on the doc...some are really stingy and almost punitive about it. Mine fills you up while you drink water so you are filled to good restriction on the first fill...I LOVE her! Seems like most are about 4 week intervals and range from 1 or 2 ccs each time...that means 6 months of Bandster Hell (you had surgery but have no effect of the band!). My doc says if you are at half or less capacity (like 5cc in a 10cc band) you basically do not have a working band yet!
