yep...I said it. And it's only day 1 of my liquid diet.

I feel the need to share my experience though. My 2 year old son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today and he is such a champ and doing great. But probably not the best day to have to start my diet.

The surgery center was an hour away from home so I packed my 2 shakes in a bag with ice. Chocolate shake...is tolerable but the Cafe one...not so much! Anyway, my Mom came down for his surgery as well and of course her and my husband were starving 5 hours later so they asked if they could grab a bite to eat......DEEP SIGHS....how could I say no. So they decided they wanted Chili's. Can I JUST TELL YOU THAT WAS NO FUN AT ALL!!!!! My hubby felt pretty bad about it but I really wanted him to eat. BUT I made it through lunch.........

Now it's dinner.....I made Jacob his noodle soup....reserved the broth for me! YAY!

:( and then I put the roasted potatos and onions on to back with the French's Onion Baked Chicken.........

IT IS TIME TO LEAVE THE HOUSE.....Just sayin'

So to sum up my blog for the day.....If I make it through the next two weeks I KNOW I WILL be successful with the lapband tool. :D

PS...........I really HATE the shakes

trust me it gets a lot easier as each day goes by - you get used to it and your stomach shrinks so you're less hungry. A lot of people on here put something up on the fridge so you can "cross off" each day that goes by - or a sign that says i can do anything for "x" days and then countdown the days! best of luck to you - the 2 weeks of "hell" is nothing compared to the success after - i'm 2 1/2 months out and down 44 pounds - well worth the pre-op diet!!!!!

Thank you so MUCH! A little frustrated with myself at 8:06 pm because my tummy is whinning a little louder than I would like it to be right now. Didn't think it was going to be to bad and I pray that tomorrow is a little easier.

REALLY NEEDED TO HEAR THAT!

what kind of shakes are you drinking. Here is a web site that I like there shakes and you can order online, I order the individual varity pack, a little more costly but only 4oz.s, low carb and calorie and high in protien. Also try the isopure fruit flavored at GNC they are 40gms of protein and have a little after taste but you can tolerate them if you get tired of milk based. I hate they myoplex and some of the other mixes, to much whey after taste. The web site is www.bariatriceating.com My favorites are peanut butter cookie, carmell latte and double dutch chocolate. I also like the unflavored pure powder they sale, you can mix it will a skinny carmel machiatto from star bucks and have a protein drink and a coffee. Special rules for mixing in hot liguids but it is yummy. YOu can also mix the unflavored in your cream soups and other liguids post and preop. The protien will keep you from being hungry. This phase will be the hardest, but you can make it.

you are officially my ....hmmm..... "life support" for my lap band. :)

I am drinking what my Dr. said. EAS AdvantEdge. The Whey after taste is what is pushing it over the edge of tolerable to me....... I have never really been a big "shake" of any kind person so to only be allowed to have this....hmm.....not so much. BUT I am GOING TO DO IT DANG IT! I have wanted this since 2003 and kept hitting walls....I am not this close and giving up. NOPE NOPE NOPE!:D
