Post OP

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents..... I'm on day 8 for the post op and I'm feeling okay. I kinda cheated on Sunday and had a spoon full of rice, but I focused and I'm presently back on task. Unsure how many people had to do the liquid diet, but it stands for deteremination and will power. I have had my husbanxd try to sabatoge my success with all these elaborate meals and I finally broke down and had some rice (bummer) God knows that I want this truly bad, so I'm BACK.... :)

Can anyone tell me if its okay to have a sprinkle of hot sauce in my broth? Ive been eating on edy's popsicles and drinking crystal light and low fat low cal jello.

Check the calories in the hot sauce. You have to watch them. But I don't think hot sauce per say would hurt at all to have some in your broth. Sounds like you are doing well post op. Keep us posted on your progress. :) p.s. - when you are allowed full liquids, try some chocolate sugar free pudding packs and add 1/2 scoop protein powder in with it. It tastes good and it really gives you a full feeling. Just a good way to get extra protein in. It is sometimes hard to get in enough protein and they say if you don't your hair can fall out and you will feel fatigued. I also sprinkle the protein powder on other foods and salads as well. I still have a protein shake for my breakfast too to get the protein in. Remember eggs, fish, chicken, tuna and fat free or 2 percent cheese are all high in protein.

There are little to no calories in hot sauce. I am on day 3 post op and clear liquid week sure is tough to take. I put a dash of wostercestershire(sp?) in my beef broth and thought I had died and gone to heaven. Really looking forward to full liquids week!
