i cant stop thinking about it... i recvd the call yesterday and they told me i was APPROVED for my surgery im soooo STOKED and sooo EXCITED....:blink: i cant believe how time just flew by... 6mos ago i was anxious, nervious and scared and i was like 6mos is a long time... but it was all WORTH it.. this has been a WONDERFUL journey so far.. TODAY is the START and NEW and FRESH ~ MICHELLE...

 

ON another NOTE,,,,, my ADVOCATE told me to get on a two week liquid DIET... ;) okay she forgot to tell me what i can drink... so you PROFESSIONALS out there,... PLEASE give me some Advise to what i can drink... this morning i bought some Atkins Advantage drinks.... is that okay... or shall i get the slim fast... PLEASE HELP.. thanks...

I havent started my pre-op yet but I met with the nutritionist and was told that during the liquid pre-op diet, the only things I could consume were carnation instant breakfast (blue box suagr free) mixed with one percent milk and water....thats it, nothing else!!!

You really need to call your dr. back tomorrow because every dr. is different with the pre-op diet. You are going to need to amp up your protein amounts to somewhere between 70 and 100 grams per day. Easiest is using protein powder with skim milk. If you don't get enough protein you have other issues like hair loss. Definately get their specifics because a big reason for the pre-op is to get your liver shrunk as much as possible so you don't want alot of fat in what you're drinking. Good luck and congrats.
