Monday will be 3 weeks post surgery for me. It's been a rough go for me after surgery. My doctor says that my body is not accepting the band as well as most. I still have a lot of swelling and can feel everything that goes down my throat. But there is always a silver lining.... I have lost 17 pounds :). I'm going back to work Monday. Putting everything in God's hands!

Just got banded Tuesday, February 8th..... I never realized how much food has consumed my life (just like I was consuming food) LOL...The 1st few days were so hard. Not so much painful...although I had some pain...It was hard for me because I really miss food. Every friendship, family relationship I have is centered around food. I love to cook. I love to hang out with my girlfriends (happy hour), I love my dinner dates with my boyfriend. My trips with my kids always include food... Food has been very much part of my life....now I have to learn how to do all these things without sabatoging my surgery. God give me strength. I'm down 11 lbs in 5 days. Glad about that....hope I can continue to progress. I'm giving this my all. But Lord knows I can't wait to chew again. LOL....What does your doctor mean when he says your body hasn't accepted the band as most ppl???? I'm just asking because I even feel jell-o going down. Just want to know what to look for. I pray for your success as well as my own. Blessings.....KIM

My doctor was just letting me know that I was healing at a slower rate. I'm just one of those people who heal a little slower than the average. He says that after 3 weeks most people do not feel as much restriction as I do. Like you ,I still feel everything that I am swallowing. This should be better now. Don't get me wrong, I haven't vomitted or anything like that. I am just still feeling very uncomfortable. Good luck to you too!

Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time. I hope things get easier for you. Sometimes I eat too quick and it gets stuck and you have that feeling in your throat and it is painful so I know what you must be feeling. Hopefully it will pass and you will feel better soon. Congratulations on your wt. loss. That is wonderful. Keep your chin up and stay strong. Keep us posted. Take care.:)
