NIGHTMARE made a reality. Pre-Op DIET! lol....

Hello everyone. Well today is Day 2 of my Pre Op diet. I feel horrible. I keep thinking of food or like fries and hamburger etc... Why does this happen? You know I noticied that it is not that I am hungry because I don't really feel hungry, it is more mentally. My heart tells me I want to lose the weight, I want to keep going and follow the diet to the T and not mess up. These past two days I have done it and followed the diet all the way and excercised about 45 min a day. I really want to do this the right way but it seems like everywhere I turn I see food or I hear someone talking about it and my mind skips a little lol.... You know I went to Wal-Mart last night and as I was walking around I kept seeing these beautiful skinny women and in my mind I was telling them stuff lol..... I was being mean and I am never like that, this is not me!!! I am sorry to go on and on but honestly I have no one to tell so I decided to come on here and vent. HOWWWWW did you all get through the 2 week diet? Mine does not even sound as hard as others I have heard but boy is it tempting to give up and just eat. But of course I won't because 2 days have already come and gone and I did so good, did not cheat or anything. My 2 week diet consists of this:

1 early Am protein shake 20grams protein

1 Mid Morning Protein shake 20 grams protein

Lunch=fat free 6 oz yogurt and a medium fruit

snack either a cup of cottage cheese fat free/or 1 oz of nuts like almonds/pecans no flavor or 2 string cheese fat free

Dinner 4 oz of lean meat chicken, tuna, fish and 1/2 cup of corn, potatoes and 1 cup of vegtables

Does not sound hard but boy it sure is lol.... I know I want this bad and I now I will get through it just really wanted to vent. Oh also did any of you weigh yourself constantly???? I keep wanting to weigh myself every morning, is this good or bad? Anyway thanks for reading. :D

It is your mind testing you and playing tricks on you!! This is a huge mental adventure that we have to go thru during the pre-op and then again once you are banded...most everyone says "why did I just do this to myself" right after surgery..it is your mind. You need to stay positive and keep focused on why started this process to begin with. Yes, I weighed myself each and every day (and still do). I got a huge high off watching that scale go down and it motivated me to continue that pre-op diet without cheating with no problems. I also was determined so shrink my liver to ensure that there would be no problems for the surgeon. I wanted to make sure that I was paving the best road possible for my recovery. The other thought I kept telling myself that if I cheated now that I was cheating myself out of a lifetime of being healthy, happy and able to do things I haven't been able to do in years. Coming on this site is perfect for what you did..we all are either where you are or already been there...so vent away!! I wish you the very best!

I know exactly how you feel it is so hard when i wake up i think of food and through out the day still i was banded in Dec and this is such a mental challange but am gettin there. My pre op was 4 weeks long and boy was it hard all i kept thinkin if you do this for so long and decide 2 eat something bad it could just be out the window just for my own stupidity as i had 2 shrink my liver i was told by the surgeon if i didnt he wouldnt operate. Just think of how great your goin to look this is gonna be a very long task not just a quick fix like i thought i would have it and that would be it but boy was i wrong its in the mind even when am not hungry. When i 1st done my pre op it was so strict i felt so ill migraine and dizzyness from the lack of food. YOu can and will get there am down 61lbs and 30 of that was on my pre op i wish you the best of luck :o)

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
