Jan 11th has finally come. I will be banded along with my husband tommorrow . I have to say the last week has been very hard. The protein pre-surgery shakes have left me hungry all the time. I stayed with the process only giving in to temptation a few times. I gained weight which is hard to believe but the boost protein are alot of calories and you have to drink 4 plus a dinner. If I had it over I think I would have eaten lunch instead. I hope the hunger pains aren't like this after the band is put on. I went to the grocery store yesterday and wandered up and down the isles trying to find the things on my list to eat for the next week or 2. That was not much fun. It is very had to find fat free and sugar free items. I'm hoping I have made some good choices. This defenitely isn't a EASY process  . I'm hoping next week this time I can post that I have lost what I gained plus some. And the journey begins......

Good luck to you and your husband.... I just had my surgery last Friday. Today is day 4 and everything seems fine. I am not hungry at all...but I think the water is keeping me full. I've had some chicken broth and some sugar-free jello. They both tasted wonderful. I only have 3 more days to go on this stuff and then I can move to full liquids. I can do this!!! Good luck to you both...

How amazing that you and your hubby get to do this together. While I have insurance, they would not pay for my banding so I paid out of pocket over $13,250. My husband does not have insurance, but he feels he will be able to take off the weight on his own. It has been a slow process for him, but we are exercising together and getting healthier together. You are making a better future with eachother by losing the weight together.

Remember to do as much walking as you can to get rid of the gas you are going to feel. GasX has helped some people, but I just did a lot of walking. During commercials, if you can believe it. Drink plenty of liquids to help with the hunger, but you won't experience hunger as you do now.

i wish you both the best of luck. You are so fortunate to be able to do this together. You will give eachother strength and encouragement - just don't be competitive. Everyone loses at a different rate. Also remember it took years to put the weight on, it will take a while to take it off. I am almost 70lbs down, surgery was on June 21st of 2010. Good luck.
