Eating and Drinking

HI All

I have a question that I hope you don't think is too silly. I know we're not supposed to eat and drink. Wait 30 minutes after drinking to eat and 30 minutes after eating to drink again. Well I just had lunch and i soup and a half sandwich. It was a veggie soup with broth which made me wonder, is that the same as eating and drinking?

Thanks

HAHA I just asked my mom the same thing!!! SHe said no because its liquid as well. You only need to do this with solids so that the food can last and won't be washed away. My mom was banded 3 years ago so I go to her for alot of advice. SHe has lost 95 pounds and is in a size 8. She is my inspiration and my support partner.

My dr. also said that if you eat soup, do it other than at meal time, or eat just soup for a meal. Sometimes soup and sandwich just go together.

LAP-BAND Patients

hey lady how 's it going?

this site is wonderful to get advice in general but as i've gone through some of the questions and answers..each doc is different. for instance, my doc said NO cokes but some on here are drinking it coz their doc's said it was ok (well diet coke). The thing with the soup...i was told that if i wanted the soup then to eat the noodles or whatever it is and not take in the broth. then later i could drink the broth.

so i would check with your nurse/doctor to see what he/she recommends.
