I'm more the disappointed in myself than ever before.

I honestly thought that I had more self-control. my surgery is

dec. 7 and I'm excited yet I can't seem to follow the rules.

I drink my shake for breakfast and lunch and come around

dinner i'm so tired of being bloated and not satisfied and of

not chewing but sipping that I make myself a turkey sandwich.

granted is not the worst choice but the fact that i'm on the pre-op diet

with specific guidelines makes it a bad choice. I just.....ugh...so

frustrated and wouldn't really want to mess up my surgery.

I try to look on the positive (lost 13 pounds so far) but its a little

hard when you let yourself down....

sorry for venting....sad.gif

I think a lot of us went through the same thing - I too cheated...And felt like a failure (Again)...Today is done and tomorrow is a brand new day...Just think you only have 4 more days...You can do 4 days...Wake up tomorrow and plan a busy day for yourself. I found by keeping busy I didn't ponder the kitchen. Try to get out of the house when your most likely to eat. My fav was to make my shake and take it with me in the car and go for a pedicure or to the book store.

You can do it.

I cheated a little as well and I am also having surgery on the 7th. A good friend of mine put it to me this way. These last few days, you don't want to cheat. You don't want to have food in your system when you have gone through surgery because it can make you sick. You also don't want to be constipated and trying to push with a sore tummy. When I thought about it that way, I was a little better about keeping on track.

I am with you on this one the diet is really hard but the worst of the liquids is almost over!!!

This may sound harsh but maybe you are not ready for the surgery. It's not like after you have it you don't have to rely on self restraint. I am not saying this to be mean but maybe you would do with a little more time to think about this and see if you are really committed to making the changes that will be necessary after the surgery. Please don't take this the wrong way.

Not that we all didnt cheat...but how many grams of protien are in your shakes? Are you getting in at least 60 grams of protien/day? Try increasing your protien and see......not that it will help the no chewin thing...it takes 4 days straight to really relieve the habit of "eating" break your habit now cause you are on your way to no chewing..eating...and no more satisfaction from food. Take this time to do the behavior modification you will need for life with the band....because food isnt about pleasure or satisfaction with the band..it is only about nutirition. BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION = LAPBAND nothing else works.....its like buy a treadmill and saying since you bought it...it should work without me using it....ya right,...huh! use the band....change why you are fat.

the only other hard thing I did in my life was to stop smoking,,,when I did I call it my rehab: ,I went and bought myself a 3000 pc puzzle and kept my mind  off of smoking and after a while when I would think about it I would get me something cold to drink and I would do my REHAB...work on the puzzle...or better yet you can write down everything you are eating or what you are doing to trigger  the urge to eat and change the habits around:( get a peace of hard sugerless candy or a cup of sugar free fruit punch or Call a friend and talk your way through the urges.
