Atkin's Diet begins today!!

I started the Atkin's Diet today in preparation for my surgery on November 19th. I'm hoping I can last on this diet until then!! LOL Without carbs and just protein with some veggies, it's going to be a rough road for 2 weeks. If I can just last, I'll get the lapband and won't have to worry about being hungry all the time. Right now, I'm starving and I've already had breakfast and lunch! Any suggestions on what I can eat on Atkins without ruining my carb count? I can't have more than 20 grams of carbs per day. :cursing:

I started the Optifast shakes today (surgery on the 19th too)...I get 4 shakes a day THAT'S IT...Sugar free drinks too...OMG - I'm starving right now and want to eat my leg right off. I just keep thinking it's only 2 weeks...We can do it...HAVE to do it.

I about wanted to commit food homicide today because I run a luncheon and I couldn't eat!! :) People kept trying to make me eat and I had to keep explaining that I'm on the Atikin's Diet. When that wasn't enough, I said I'm getting banded next week and then their reaction was actually that of excitement! LOL At least they understood.

I ate pork skins like crazy. Tuna, spinach dip. Hope that helps.

I appreciate the suggestions. I actually have a can of tuna in my purse with a fork and napkin, just in case!! :)

      Xbox And Exercise - Kickboxing

      I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
