Banded on 9/30/10. I still can't believe I did this. I spent $15k on this and what if it doesn't work. I know that I have to do my part. Oh Lord please let this work. I want to be healthy. I don't want to be disabled by this weight anymore. I hope this soarness goes away soon. I'm so surpised...this surgery was worse than my hysterectomy!

Best wishes to you on your journey to a healthier YOU ;-)

I was banded June 29, 2009, and I weighed in at over 250 pounds. I was a mess. I am a size 10 today and people call me skinny. Go figure skinny. I have NEVER been skinny in my life. I have had a wonderful LB journey as I am sure you will too. Make the most of it every day and be happy!

The soreness does go away it took almost two weeks for me to feel better after my surgery as it is MAJOR surgery! Rest up and take time to heal yourself. This is all about you NOW. Remember you are healing from the inside out. The weight will come off don't worry about that. Follow all the Band rules and blogging is one of the BEST things that helped me get to where I am today. I love this site. I never eat at my computer it is a NO FOOD zone. Best wishes and keep blogging Oh and I have lost 110 pounds as of today and have kept it off, I feel great and even went mini bungee jumping with my college age kids two week ends ago. Never thought I would have ever tried that. Hope to hear from you soon. Happiness to you and feel better soon. imaluckydog

Well 15k is a lot of money to spend, and of course everyone has their doubts and wonder if they made the right decision. I on the other hand has had many bad experiences with this band. I've been banded for 2 yrs now and only lost 20 lbs..but I cant say its not my fault..I am the blame for part of it but the other half is due to my health problems and not just that I LUV FOOD..lol BEST WISHES on your journey..

I also spent 13K and was banded on 10/1/10.. unfortunately though I think you're in worse pain than me. I'm still on my pain meds and I've been able to keep down my liquids really well =) I'm in shock too lol.. Cheers though to the journey we've begun!! =) Ashley

Good luck on your journey, and remember this is a tool, you still have to do all the work. Its not easy, but so worth everything you put into the new you :o) You've made the first step to changing your life forever. In 18 months I've lost 130 lbs...I never thought in a million years that I could do it. Stick to the program and it works.

Try to walk as much as you can too....it will help you to recover from surgery faster. I also thought getting my band was way worse that my hysterectomy. Best of luck and hope your feeling better soon!

Wow! Thanks to everyone for their comments and words of encouragement. This site is the best thing I could have ever found! I am feeling really good today and am totally stoked about getting the band. I really feel like I've made a great decision for myself. I know I can make this work for me. I want to be a healthy skinny person! I probably sound like a crazy person but I don't even miss the food right now! I'm so happy I finally have a chance to lost this darn weight! Thanks again to everyone for their posts. Tomorrow is my follow up with the surgeon hopefully it will go really well.
